Try to gloss over it, but it happened and no matter what you say it'll always be there .

Do Bury fans cling on to such a dim and distant past cup win in the same way as Cardiff fans do?

Or Barnsley fans?

Or Notts County fans?

Or is it just Cardiff fans?

Modern day - yes. All-time - no way.
I watched them last night and to be fair they owe Roberto Martinez an awful lot....their style of play is outstanding at times and they will only get stronger. They need fear no-one.
The level of how successful they become depends on the ambition of their board. At the moment they aren't a top 3 side but I have to say they look very accomplished.
We've got to get promoted this year....COME ON!!!!!! :malky:

in my opinion, i think they are the best team to come out of wales. though i also think that this Cardiff team is probably in the top 5 to come out of wales after the teams of the twenty's and sixty's .i would also put thoshacks jack team of the early eighty's in the top four. saying that, i think this Cardiff team is better than the Swansea team that beat reading at wembley and will improve big time over the next two years. good times ahead one thinks for all concerned, will also be amazed if Swansea don't beat Bradford by at least 2 goals at wembley. :ayatollah:

Yes, all fans are proud of their histories. County fans I knew when i lived up there were very proud.

Just because you don't have one.

The statement mentioned 'all time', but your lot want to preclude a certain period from the debate.

Couldn't make it up.

No one said you shouldn't be proud of it. There's a big difference between that and clinging on to it by mentioning it at every single opportunity. It's quite sad really.

I actually didn't mention the FA Cup if you check. I was talking about us finishing 2nd on goal difference in the league. Someone else mentioned the cup and in traditional style your muppet mate tried to pretend it never happened. Nobody even tried t argue against my original post as I clearly hit the nail on the head.

However as this is a debate about the best Welsh side EVER then even you can understand that us winning the FA Cup along with runners up in the league, WHENEVER achieved has a place.

Figure of speech mate.

You wouldn't want to know what really goes on in my head.

Back to the debate, no-one can deny that your club are doing incredibly well now and you would have the top 2 entries for best side of the last 50 years - or since the war, but you still haven't finished as high or won as prestigious a trophy as our 20's team have, so that's it for me.

Hopefully next season we will be able to make the step up to compete with you.

I won't click on that link as i'm not sure what i'll find.Anyway, back to the initial point.Yes,I'd say your team of the 20's were a great side and one to be proud of and their achievements speak for themselves.Yet the obvious monumental change in quality through the years and as players evolve and get quicker, fitter and stronger means that the current crop of Swansea players and in todays climate are indeed 'the best Welsh side' ever. It's like saying Joe Davis would beat Ronnie O'Sullivan at snooker, both great players in their eras but to compare them is futile.

The best can only be measured relative to the era. Comparing athletes over the years is pointless, very much like this thread

They think their brilliant for winning the league cup, we come to within a penalty shootout of winning that as a championship club.
If you listen to their achievements and success you'd think they won the champions league.
