That from someone who is obviously an authority on all things football

Jesus man for a transfer under £1M and his salary included of about the same per year I would suspect, it's great business!

As I say I hope Im wrong but for some reason I don't think I am. Whats wrong with having a different opinion as you on a public forum..?

Nothing wrong with it at all..........I just disagree with you.......strongly!

His record at Sunderland is poor I agree but where he has started games he has scored goals. Forwards are made up of 50% confidence and I believe Malky can give him that confiddence to go and bag double figures before the end of the season.

2006–2009 → Manchester United 2 (0)
2006–2007 → Royal Antwerp (loan) 33 (21) Goal every 1.57
2007–2008 → Hull City (loan) 34 (15) Goal every 2.26
2008–2009 → Tottenham Hotspur (loan) 10 (1) ......I'm sure you can work this one out ;)
2009– Sunderland 58 (6) Goal every 9.6 games

Total to date = Goal every 3.1 games but due to his injuries I think this is actually very respectable! My only concern is not the goals he will bring but his ability to keep fit, I would imagine the medical will pick that up.

listen I'm not talking about before his Sunderland days because they are 3 years ago alone!!!! 1 goal in every 9.6 games and that alone says something

Yes it does....he's been injured a lot!

It also says that he only managed to score a goal every 9.6 games!!!

Classic "wont even get double figures"???

There are 19 games left

8 or 9 goals would be a decent return for any striker.

But dont let that get in the way eh

Yes but the facts are that he has hardly started any games....it's far more difficult to come on late in a game and make an impact compared to starting but as such an authority on football you would know that....wouldnt you?

Re: Campbell: Wont even get double figures IMO

Given the number of games left your probabley right but fitting into a team thats scoring from alot of positions 7 or 8 goals from a position where we are a bit light will do.

Re: Campbell: Wont even get double figures IMO

for that money campbell is a steal as he still young and has a point to prove, no shame in not getting in the man u team or spurs not got any luck at sunderland. he can score and he is realistic signing anyone think we are going to sign Daren bent Danny Graham or Wayne Rooney is not real sorry. Just a thought the last signing we got from martin Oneil for a player who could not get in his team was peter whittingham :ayatollah:

Ditch my last as I had looked at the Wiki page

He has actually made 14 appearances this year and only scored 1 goal but dont let the facts get in the way of some good old fashioned attention seeking

FFS!!! HE KNOW KNOWS WEST HAMS TRANSFER POLICY!!!! MALKY GET HIM ON YOUR SCOUTING TEAM!!!! FFS!!!

You said the reason he was going was probably because they want him off the wage bill. That is not the case. The reason he is going is he is yet to sign a new contract with Sunderland and other clubs have come into the mix for him, other clubs who can offer him more playing time. Obviously they would like him off the wage bill but that ain't the reason he is going. If he wanted he could sit out the rest of his contract collecting £40k per week quite easily. He doesn't have to go and Sunderland can't make him. He has a contractual agreement with them.

As for calling me brain dead....laughable considering the crap you've gone about in the papers. Maybe you should stand by one of your statements you made and stay off the beers. Just a thought.

That's not as good as some of Adams whoppers. He wanted to get rid of Mark Hudson after half a season

Re: Campbell: Wont even get double figures IMO

Fri Jan 18, 2013 3:06 pm

Think he's been bought to get a few goals to make sure we get promoted, if he stays fit will be a good buy. Then next season when we are hopefully in the premiership if he can't get a few goals the club are out 1/2 million can still sell him on. Seems a win win deal to me.

He will score goals for fun in this league.

Thought you were'nt going to reply to me direct

Its not made up, you said we needed a striker who could get us 15 goals. You didnt think Austin could do it as he already had 20 this season. You thought Sordell could do it as he only had a few.

By your logic Campbell should easily do it, probably get 20 before the end of the season seeing as he has barely scored for three years

Re: Campbell: Wont even get double figures IMO

Fri Jan 18, 2013 3:49 pm

The sentiment at the club is that he is a decent signing which will also take pressure off Maynard returning before he's fully fit. I'm not bothered about Campbell's previous cruciate as I have no doubt that MM and staff are happy with his fitness. So a bargain methinks.......
