Mason came on and did little. I feel that he was used unfairly. If we were to bring on Mason, we should have started playing it on the floor and not lumping it up, that's not going to work without A target man.
Helguson didn't have much time to make an impact, so to be critical of him would be unfair, yet I feel that he should not be leading our line alone.
We are in desperate need of a striker. Would love to see what Maynard would be doing right now.
You're entitled to your opinion and he may well be slow, but personally, I don't think he's lazy!
With regards to the rest of your post though, this is virtually what I was saying earlier, Mason had the ball lumped up to him and did nothing, Helguson had the ball lumped up to him and did nothing (accept your point about him not having much time), yet everybody has a go at Rudy who had to deal with the same poor service as Mason & Helguson!
Whoever plays up front for us, needs to have the ball played in to them at a lower height, so that it gives them a chance to be able to control the ball, hold it up and bring other players into the game, which is what Rudy did at Leicester!
It's no good launching the ball 8 or more feet into the air and expecting anybody to be able to control the ball, like Rudy, Mason & Helguson were expected to do on Saturday, a point which a lot of people on here have missed!
Yes, the same service was to all strikers, but it's unfair on Mason as he isn't a "target-man" whereas Gestede is.. So should be suited to that sort of service.

It doesn't matter how high the ball is over your head, whether you're 6' 4" like Gestede, or 5' 11" ish like Mason, if it's over your head, it's over your head!
Rudy won a few balls in the air on Saturday, which he managed to find Bellers with on a couple of occasions.
However, I can't recall one pass into him, that gave him any opportunity to be able to control the ball anywhere near chest height or lower, which would have allowed him the chance to hold the ball up and bring our midfield more into play!

It's a bit unfair to say he's not good enough when he hasn't been given a run in the team?
People have a go at me for saying Gestede isn't good enough, even though he's had a run in the team!

no i dont think its unfair at all, Malky sees him every day and obviously doesnt think he is ready. He got a rare chance in the cup game and showed nothing, now although i wouldnt judge him too harshly on that one performace, its clear he wont be given a chance here.

And what does Malky see in the joke that is Rudy ?. C'Mon give Velikonja a couple of starts and if he doesn't make it, get rid of him, A striker need confidence and needs service and tbh Velikonja got little of that at Macclesfield

someone watching rudy without bias this season would have to admit that he has altered games when coming off the bench, not all, but some of the time. even if there was no direct involvment with the goals

Definately worth considering and definately not a waste of money like some people are saying.
