Slightly related but not totally on topic a few years ago I would travel away with the stewards and when we had briefings with the away stewards their own safety officers would tell their stewards that
'Cardiff fans stand up and there's no point wasting your time telling then to sit down so just leave them to get on with it'

Double irony: Ipswich, last team we played at NP, was the team whose fans passed a banner stating, 'Keep Standing' to our fans in the Grange End.

Irony 1. Our fans now mostly preferring to sit down. Even squabbles among fans over the issue.
