We have a bigger prize to bag this season and the cup is not part of it, maybe it is testament to our progress as a club.

Onwards to the Premier League and after the next league win none of you will be bothered by today's result, I would be more concerned if we lose to Ipswich.

Agreed
Perfect result.

I cannot see how getting beat to a side 81 league places below us ( our worst fa cup result in history), is a " perfect result".

Fair question.

Perfect because we gave some players a run out, perfect because we didnt have a replay, perfect because we only lost from a dodgy penalty, perfect because no 'first' team players were injured, perfect because we can concentrate on the league instead of pissing about in the cup.
Perfect because they will be dying to smash Ipswich next week. Happy days. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

"Perfect because we gave some players a run out"

Even if we are looking at the "bigger picture" ie promotion. I still cant agree.

All we acheived was letting our young players participate in a record breaking loss, destroying the confidence of most of the side who played which played yesterday, and in doing so, weakening our backup squad for the run of games to come.

There are still a full 20 league games to play. Some of them players could well be needed.

I fail to see how anyone can dress being beaten by a side 81 places below us a " great result".

so if the development squad lose does that have a direct effect on the first team squad? Id say no.

its stupid to say that one set of 11 players will effect another set of 11 players.

its just scare mongering and doom and gloom.

The development squad have lost games before they will lose again I fail to see how it will effect our first team squad.

I dont see how their confidence has been destroyed or how players who cant even get on our bench will weaken our league run.

Jonny,

Ben nugent, declen john, steve mcfail and maybe a few others could be needed in the coming weeks.

John and nugent have both already been required to play 1st team football this season.

Its far from " stupid" to think these players (and more) wont be needed again..

Name me a football manager who does not place importance on having a strong SQUAD of players?

ok steve mcphail we dont really have to worry about him experience coming out of his ears.

ben nugent and declan john are both very young players with little experience, you put them in the first team the more experienced players will carry them through the game making sure they are in the right places and they dont panic.

we have a strong squad the idea that we dont is silly and just shows panic we are top of the league

the team that played yesterday has no relation to our first team and with the greatest respect to John and Nugent a few players will have to be injured before they see real first team football atmo.

Sorry Carl but if your not bothered about losing in the FA cup too a Non-league side then there is something wrong with you.

Upset, yes you should be by the way we lost to a Non-league side.

Malky should have played some more fringe players rather than the young players.

He should have shown more respect to the 600 fans that travel to cheer and support the team.
