No thanks to Cisse. He was unused because he's lazy has a massive ego and bad tempered.

I love that we are all kept in the dark a bit. I suspect Carl does know and is keeping schtumm, and
fair play to him, cos my fingers would be burning to share the info on here

But if he drops a name in tonight, it will be in the Echo tomorrow, the Club dont need that.

i hope your right. We are top and clear by 7. So why would they turn us down?

I prefer names not being mentioned. Its not exactly private to us lot as newspapers like to get their bits of transfer information off here imo.

these days, players care more about money! if Malky is clever enough to stick in a promotion bonus if VT allows then that will attract bigger ones again! £££££££ means everything these days!

I know its just speculation but if Bolton captured Austin and we end with Sordell I would be seriously pissed off.

I know you won't give names Carl, but do you expect them done within a week or more towards deadline?

Re: ' MALKY'S LIST HAS SHORTENED '

MY suspicion is that we will be getting a Charlie Austin type striker and Malky is
trying to give Helguson a bit of a break so he can give the two of them a bit of
time on the training ground to see how they link up.

Just a theory, I've been wrong before :D

I hope interest has cooled in Graham, spoke to a friend in business who is friends with Huw Jenkins. Reason why there are open to Graham going is hes having trouble with booze atm, i would imagine the club are trying to help him. But we had someone who had off field troubles and they slipped back into it.

I just want another defender, keping Lap is an option. Skilled midfielder who doesnt waste position and a striker that can score 1 every 2 games type ratio. It was Maynard but hes out of course

Carl,

I have heard Malky was waiting for Newcastle to sign their new right-back (which is all but complete) before making a bid for Danny Simpson. Heard anything along those lines?

That would be the best signing we could make in my eyes. Anyone who can score this many
goals in the Championship will get goals in the top flight.

EX-Premiership strikers are generally going to be those who have not quite set the world alight
up there.

Jerome, Sordell, Austin... to be honest, any good goal-scoring striker will add to what we have up front
and I believe, will just put the stamp on our Premiership season.

But my concern is forking out a lot of money for players who have already had a chance to shine
in the Premiership and failed. We have to be thinking next season now!!

Get Charlie Austin, if we were to match any offer from Bolton how could he possibly choose them over us?? All very much dependent on whether Burnley would sell and would Charlie want to move I know. Only possible reason if Burnley were willing to deal would be that he may not have to relocate from his curent home if he moved to Bolton.

Must be some sort of rivalry between Burnley & Bolton too, both in Lancs not far apart?

So has the list shortened because Malky has his men ?
I think a defender will be with us next week but it wouldn't surprise me that any further players ( if any) won't be with us until the end of the transfer window.
I hope I'm proved wrong .

Same here. I think Sordell could do the job but its a massive gamble. If Austin goes to Bolton though it will show a massive lack of ambition and prove he's gone for money so id be glad we hadn't got him anyway.

Also at the match at Burnley 09-10 season Blackburn Rovers fans decided to wear Owen Coyle masks to wind the Burnley fans up as they called him the 'messiah' then change to 'judas' when he left to go Bolton.

Most championship promotion teams have a big mobile striker who scores regularly eg Holt & Lambert. Leicester have got this season's version in Wood. Austin would do a great job as well. Sordell is not IMO much cop and would be a like for like replacement for Maynard.

No City striker has got into double figures yet and Helgusson has a poor scoring rate. Maynard has never been replaced. Earnshaw is now back but presume he'll be loaned out again :?:

As someone said above a strong central midfielder is a must having seen our midfield toyed with in past 2 games. Someone who can hold it up and pass.

Someone to come in as left back also as Taylor is too inconsistent for me.
