Like another Liverpool target at Ajax, Christian Eriksen, Alderweirled only has 12 months remaining on his current contract and would cost £7million.

This is going to be a pivotal summer for Liverpool and Rodgers appreciates the need to ensure whatever business he does is completed swiftly, as was the case in January when Daniel Sturridge was drafted in within 24 hours of the window opening.
