The crest on the shirt and that crest are nowhere near identical.
hes off his rocker with a clear agenda against this idea.
There is absolutely to copyright issue what so ever. That much is clear.
I own several Cardiff City t shirts that don't come from the club whilst having a bluebird and the name Cardiff City on them.
I can't see how the copyright issue would occur here as the top is not emulating or trying to be the brand that is tans Cardiff City.
In fact. Being not the same is exactly what the top is doing.

A big one. You might not want to encourage people to get into trouble taking a huge financial hit. If it looks good or bad on Tan doesn't help the guy with the bill much does it? The bluebird is protected and yet again you give ill advice!

You didnt ask a question, you suggested it WAS a copyright issue. When i told you and explained to you why it isnt you started namecalling. That isnt "simply asking a question".
Im not sure how many times i can tell you the bluebird images arent the same.

Then it is either made on a license or a pirate copy. Braking the trademark and tap in direct competition with the club is the most stupid advice I ever heard. No business would leave that alone, and it's not very ballsy when another one pay the consequences is it

Best I buy one from a guy in a street then?
Can you tell me how all the other shops and sellers get away with selling merchandise that 1000s buy and wear to games?
Thanks

Any time a brand is threatened people don't get away with it. They get burned heavy if they have breached any rules.
It's like the guy with the iPhone covers on here. Probably not license to sell them, but doesn't conflict with club interest, so he is left alone. Why don't you just buy an old blue shirt or get the trust to make one?

Roathie, I also can not believe any City fan could be negative about us wanting to return to BLUE and these new Blue City shirts or any Blue City shirts that fans want to wear.

He's not being negative though. He's making a valid point that it's worth checking that you aren't breaching any copyrights.
I'm going to be buying the supporters trust as the profits will be going to charity. I'm all for people wanting to make a bit of money that's up to them but it doesn't feel right for me to make money out of a protest sorry.

A few comments:
1- The purpose of this shirt is "protest" not "commercial".
2- The goal is not to steal funds from the club by mimicking official merchandise.
3- The copyright is not water-tight. It is for a "black" bluebird, not a blue one as on this shirt.
4- It is unlikely VT would take his own customers to court over this, for that is what Cardiff City supporters are, they are customers of "his" business - in legal speak.
To prevent any ambiguity I would suggest the following.
1- Clearly define the product: "supporters 'protest' shirt". Not "replica football shirt". Although it is obvious what the product is, defining it removes ambiguity.
2- To minimise any "legal" fallout, and fuel media support is there is a reaction. Ensure no profit is made on the shirt. I would strongly advise this.
3- If there is profit give it to a charity, or invest it in the "protest" movement.
4- Having a single "protest" shirt for all supporters would be far more powerful.
Just my thoughts.

Also for those saying that the press will back the person making these kits, why would they? The club are within their own right to sue an infringing party, specially if they are making profits.

If the club are not prepared to put good quality BLUE gear in the club shop then this will always happen. A customer will only buy what they want to wear! What they feel proud to wear!
