Thats why Ive strongly said dont judge Ole till after 12 games :thumbup:

Ok :thumbup: It is a worry to change Managers at this time in the season, you don't get long to make an impact, we desperately need to good striker, and we will be ok :ayatollah:

I know your suffering a Malky hangover but in all honesty some of your posts lately have an undercurrent of you wanting Ole to fail so you can play the old "I told you so"

The improvement in the team play was evident, the players have had any attacking instinct drummed out of them through Malkys tactics and its going to take a few weeks for them to learn how to pass the ball again. With sone new players who know Ole's methods im feeling positive.

totally agree, i dont think any players had a bad game too it just didnt drop for us, we had 19 shots let alone the ones that were blocked, just wernt quite good enough today

Most of the players had a bad game.

Just a quick question Chris.

Have not many many other Prem Managers over the years wasted big money on transfers and some even bought players that have totally failed and not been sacked because of it ?

Also I do agree that Cornelius has been the biggest waste of money City have ever paid for a player, I was told from day one that he would be and I posted it on here, what I had been told.

Annis I havent seen any Premiership managers blow the best part of 50m so badly and keep their job.

Of the 8 players Malky signed last summer only 2 of them are any cop and we overpaid massively on Medel if the 15m including add ons is to be believed.

Chris, fair enough.

List the 8 players and give your opinion, then I will give mine :thumbup:

Moore and the Uruguayan for the future maybe but we needed better. We needed players to improve on what we already had as the championship squad was not going to be good enough.
Brayford complete waste of money.
Odemwingie has been awful.
KTC simply cannot defend. Caught ball watching for their first goal again Saturday and Jarvis rinsed him countless times.
Medel has done well but off the pace lately but the 15m inc add ons could have been spent on a better striker / more creative player(s) imo. Xaulker has done well but is not the world beater some make out on here. Needs a better partner than Hudson or Turner, preferably a footballer as Caulker not very good with ball at feet.
That leaves me with Cornelius. 20m this deal could eventually cost with add ons and wages. Shocking.
Cmon Annis hand on heart with what we already had and what was required then adding those 8 players for what could amount to 50m is terrible.

Chris,
Brayford, I cant understand why Malky signed him,if he was not going to play him. A waste.
Odemwingie Still could produce the goods.
KTC has done a fair job.
Medel. More than happy with him.
Caulker. Happy with him
Cornelius. A total disaster.

If the accounts show £50 Mill was really spent on these? then yes Malky wasted a lot of money, but I still feel Malky should of been left alone and we would of stayed up, I wont change my opinion, because thats what I honestly believe.

Moore - doesn't play
Uruguayan - doesn't play
Medel - overspent on him and give him an image rights deal - idiocy
Brayford - doesn't play
Cornelius - raw talent for the future - not ready to contribute to our cause now so is useless to our current campaign goal
Odemwingie - last pay cheque and has been shocking albeit in spurts when he can be bothered
KTC - goes missing from his defensive position and doesn't chase back fast enough - often exposed

http://www.transfermarkt.com/en/cardiff ... n_603.html

Odemwingie = £2.9m
KTC = £2.5m
Brayford = £1.75m
Cornelius = £8.7m
Medel = £13m

That's around £30m there on 5 players and that doesn't even factor in wages or image rights deals. We overspent on Medel by some margin according to the Spanish press and releases. Guillem Ballague rates him at around £5-6m.

So that including wages, bonuses, image rights deals is a vast amount of money.

Over £4m in transfer fees alone on 2 right backs and we still are giving Kev a chance. No offence to Kev but when we spent on a right back that right back should not be giving Kev a look in. One £4m right back would have been a better option. Odemwingie and Cornelius were obviously bought due to being unable to bring in Ince or/and Gomis. No quality players on the reports so they've gone for these in the hope they'd do the job.

Simple fact is, Malky's status was low and he needed to spend big to get any player here.

Cornelius came on £45k per week as a youngster. Medel cost double of his worth according to those who actually know and could cost almost triple with image rights deals and bonuses. KTC was obviously bought when Malky realised Brayford wasn't up to it or they didn't get on or whatever excuse is spouted next.

Solskjaer will have the pull Malky did not. No offence to Malky but ones a Manchester United legend globally for bagging then the CL winner as well as a legend in his own country for what he's done for his country and Molde FK and Malky is just a young British manager.

The reason Bruce got shrewd deals at Hull is because people wanted to play for him and he was highly respected in football and very well known. He had a reputation and a solid one. Malky had none of that, well not on Bruce's level and would mostly only be regarded as known by his ex clubs.

Malky wasted loads because he had too. He needed something to draw players here because he couldn't alone. Players will want to play for Solskjaer because he's Solskjaer and his reputation. Also, with him being touted as a future Man Utd manager, if they play well for him here and he does well and he ends up getting the job, what players is he going for straight away? The players who he can rely on. The likes of Dæhli and so on will follow him on.

Its all about reputation and image and being able to sell yourself. Ole will give us that extra pull. No offence to Malky because I still respect him massively for taking us up.

Barney add the agent fees, signing on fees and potential add ons to that and the deals could eventually hit 50m and thats not including wages. :shock:

I know Chris. Its madness to think we, a newly promoted club have spent this, and a few of my mates who follow the club more loosely wanted Malky to be given more money in January. :shock:

To be honest, I have not always agreed with you but I do on this. I agree also with what you said further up 'a difference of opinions is what makes football, football'. It'd be boring if we all agreed on a subject all the time. I just hope Ole has enough time now to sort out the mess and get us playing free flowing football.

One positive is Martinez at Wigan used to have to rebuild a team to play good football and in the last 8-10 games of a season they'd play teams off the park and just about stay up. We need to hit that same good period I think where the passing game goes well and we start sticking the ball in the net more often. Then in the summer Ole can spend a bit more and start adding more of his own puzzle pieces to the picture. Martinez's good footballing style at Wigan often came good late on and it saved them so hopefully Ole's good passing style does the same for us. Its the only hope we have now.

if we can somehiw stay up and Ole is given another war chest in the summer I think we can kick on next year.

Big "If" though.

Great post, with some interesting thoughts. MM depended heavily on ex club players,,,I was getting fed up with the constant news of a return of Joe Ledley,,, every season. I pretty sure we have heard the last of that now!
