To a lot of life long fans it ceased being a 'CLUB' when the dictator took over and decided our 100 year identity was disposable.

Tuesday was peaceful and productive, end of. There was no trouble caused and no talk of creating future trouble. This group are trying their hardest to keep our traditional colours alive, and for that reason I will be backing and supporting Bluebirds Unite 100%.

There's no reason for Steve Borley or anyone else to make assumptions about what this group are trying to achieve and how they are going to try and achieve it. Take up the invite Steve and see with your own eyes what Bluebirds Unite is really about, you may agree with it, you may not but unless you see it with your own eyes, instead of listening to hear say then you'll never have a clear idea of what this group is all about. I know your a massive city fan just like everyone involved in Bluebirds Unite, give them a chance mate.

Bluebirds Unite want to meet with the Club to perhaps see if there is some compramise can be reached seeing as the club said it would consult fans about all this over a year ago. whats extreme about BU's stance?

Its the complete opposite of what Tan wants. Therefore, by right its extreme. An extremist view in politics is one that opposes another ideology completely, as do BU with Tan's vision, thus it is therefore extremist by its nature.

jtc wrote:trouble makers?so people who hold peaceful protests are trouble makers now?more subtle intimadation from the leading lights at your club.i wonder what the owner of the pub thought about BU?seems he didn,t need to call the old bill to stop any rioting.it,s YOUR club ,it.s YOUR right to protest peacefully.if vinny tan don,t like the way the british like the right to protest then he,s in the wrong country.malaysian???sure he aint from north korea?

Did I state that? Find me the sentence where I stated such a thing or did you just surmise it out of thin air? Its a hypothetical point made by Steve in that if control is lost and a few knobs attach itself to BU then trouble could occur. Its really not hard to dissect.

Steve is right. If some idiots tag along to away games as part of BU and kick up a fuss and go overboard then yes there will be restrictions imposed. It was just a warning by Steve and its a right one to be given. Whats wrong with a heads up? I think its fairly obvious and common sense and given our history at the club of bad behaviour and having restrictions imposed up and down Britain you'd think more would be able to comprehend his statement.

iv never claimed you stated anything.is it a heads up?if so fine but only time will tell on that one.if a few people who attach themselves to BU act the goat then that is exactly what it is..a few people acting the goat.as individuals they will face the consequences.the people have risen.that is a fact james.no more are they taking it lying down and good luck to them i say.disgrace what tan has done to your club with regards to your colours.i would hope if it happened at blues there would be an uproar.there certainly would have been in the 80,s/90.s.perhaps there lies the answer.the 25 year olds of today are certainly different rightly or wrongly to the same age bracket who stood on the terraces in the 80,s /90.s.only time will tell on this the as long as BU keep it peaceful then there will be no problems.from what iv read they will

Dear Mr Borley (strange, I used to think of you as Steve but somehow that doesn't feel right anymore),

I find it intersting that you leap into attack with misinformed, exaggerated and personal criticisms of Bluebirds Unite. You're clearly rattled, though I would never expect you to admit that.

The facts are simple. Our history, tradition and identity are blue. You've colluded in betraying that for your own reasons. I suspect they're financial, given that CMB is now plastered all over the new stadium, but I admit to not knowing enough of the detail so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

Perhaps, then, you know an argument that justifies the rebrand? If you do, please enlighten us because I have never ever heard a single one.

I can only conclude that you're simply prepared to sell the club's soul because of a millionaire's blackmail.

We in B U are not prepared to do that. And we're growing in stength, resolve and numbers. We are also certain in our hearts that someday, hopefully soon, we'll return to a blue identity as part of reinstating a respectful relationship between those who run the club and those who support it.

In the meantime, perhaps a period of reflective silence on your part would be helpful.

Excellent post, but one that is wasted. Here and on twitter people have been posting well-reasoned and logical deconstructions of the fallacies Mr. Borley has presented and he hasn't responded to one of them.

Apologies if this has been mentioned as I haven't read the whole thread but just for accuracy purposes, this claim is completely untrue.

We made a profit of £14.6m after tax last season which included £5m for Brendan Rodgers to Liverpool. The transfers of Joe Allen and Scott Sinclair which Borley will be referring to here were made after 31st May 2012 and therefore not included in this accounting period.

So even without Rodgers leaving we will still have posted a profit of nearly £10m.

He's right though. A lot of life long fans feel the same... Hence the attendance of the BU meeting.

every time we talk about the rebrand we all end up in a heated debate and the red kit to one side I am gutted because we are divided.

If you agree with it or you are against theres always someone that is opposite to your line of thought and really the only thing the rebrand has achieved is divided fans .

We should all be united ready to embrace the prem league but instead its the rebrand it doesnt go away and it never will.

The club has been tarnished, scared by it and if things keep going with BU then its full out war.

For me the identity is more important then anything it is the symbol of the club a belonging its gone and the aftermath is divided fans other than that the rebrand has got us nowhere.

I give my full support to BU and if anybody else wants the blue back then why not go to a meeting make your mind up .

Stop pussy footing around and make your minds up its a no brainer for me. :ayatollah:

is it not about time people realise the club is Vincent Tan and he will do what he wants - the players dont care what colour we play in nor do the majority of the fans - if you dont like dont go and watch because the other 25,000 who will be there next season will not worry what colour we play in _ is simple when you own a business you make the rules and regulations leave vt get on with making the club stronger

Strength of support for the return to blue scenario would suggest otherwise...

Are you saying that the 25k at Bolton were all happy with red? As the song "we'll always be blue" suggests otherwise.
