R.I.P Eddie May wasn't City fan during his time due to being too young but reading Cardiff's history he's a top manager, a workmate of mine is good mates with him due to him being a friend of his dad's a good laugh on all accounts

Very sad news indeed, I was devasated to hear the news. Eddie May was iconic the bond between the fans and the manager was second to none and hasnt been rivalled since. The old grange end a mass of bodies doing the ayotollah and barmy army, the bob bank packed to the rafters with thousands singing non stop in the centre for the full 90 mins not like it is now will never be replaced. His passion and the team he created will go down in history. And I was so proud to be part of Eddie Mays Barmy Army. RIP and your legacy will live on certainly in this part of the world.

Gentlemen(and Ladies), trust you don't mind my intrusion onto your board.
Very moving to read upon here the tributes to "Eddie" - not many will have been highly thought of by all 4 senior clubs in Wales.
Why we never got him back as a manager, never know, but to our club (Wrexham) he was an inspirational captain and intregal part of the team John Neal built, that started a journey of unparrelled success our club had from the late 60's to the promised land (it was to us !) of Div 2 in late 70's.
From being Captain that led the reds to promotion from Div 4 in 69/70, our first success in the Welsh Cup to gain entry into Europe (71/72 ? (I was at Ninian that night) ), thus ending your monopoly of late 60's.
The man was a man mountain and for many Wrexham fans of that era their first hero.
Two popular chants of that era were "Oh Eddie Eddie, Eddie Eddie Eddie May" & "Eddie, Eddie Eddie Kill Kill Kill".
In memory of Eddie - please get promotion ! Support us in our bid for return to the League, Newport to land success in FA Trophy & congatulate Jacks on surviving in Prem (though I know that's a bitter pill to swallow).
RIP Eddie May - a cockney that did find "We kept a welcome in the whole of Wales"
