There was "We're Welsh, not Malaysian" but that isn't racist in the slightest, seems like people chanting an obvious statement really.

There were 2 asian people walking by me and there were 3 Malaysian people up at the castle who asked to pose with some randomer who had a 'Tan Out' banner... BU aren't the KKK for god sake, it is open to people of all races/backgrounds...

There were. I'm not on about that chant, I'm on about another 2 chants that a small group were singing.

Come on Chuckles, I respect your opinions on matters but I simply can't agree with what you are saying...

There were no racist chants, I was near the middle but on the left hand side, there weren't a lot of us people on the march as you obviously know so surely if a few people chanted racist slurs then someone would of said something about it - Especially the 2 Asian lads I mentioned above.

A small group though? what chants did that small group spur out? - You said that there were chants about Tan's dress code but that isn't racist either - I heard "We want Tan Out" , I heard "We're Welsh, not Malaysian"... My partner was with me too, I just asked her did she hear anything racist and she said she didn't either.

I've mentioned about that can that was thrown at a minibus because I seen that, that was pathetic.

I don't care about whether you agree or not.. The songs I've posted on the Facebook page is what I heard.

I couldn't care less if you didn't hear it either, doesn't mean it didn't happen. I didn't see the can being thrown, doesn't mean that it doesn't happen.

I'll repeat the songs I heard by a very small minority (2 or 3 lads)

"Vincent Tan's a f**king ladyboy."

"F**k off you Malaysian b**tard!"

These are at best distasteful & could clearly be mistaken as racist chanting - is this really what BU wants to associate itself with?

Mods - please delete the chants if you feel they shouldn't be here.

Wow... You certainly have an aggressive way of getting your points across, don't you?

I can see why that could be mistaken as racism but I didn't hear it and I haven't heard anyone else say they heard it either. I know you have been a big supporter of BU but due to your comments on here, some people have actually tarnished the whole of BU with the same brush. I actually cringed when that boy/man threw the can at the minibus and would of mentioned something to people who gave out "racist" remarks.

You seem to have a go at everybody on here if they post something you don't agree with and have had a argument with the majority of the posters on this forum so if those "racist" remarks really offended you that much then why didn't you say something to them?

Re: My Thoughts on BU March

Wed Nov 27, 2013 9:11 pm

A silly minority maybe a bit more than a minority are spoiling it.

Everyone in the BU seem to have mixed views and don't share the some view which is why it might slowly go down hill if it continues.

Stupid and needless chants (as are the majority of football chants, tbh) but not racist, as far as I'm concerned. Also, given that they were chanted by 2 or 3 lads hardly representative of BU or those on the march.

I've met you a couple of times Alex and think you're a thoroughly decent bloke but I think that you'd have been better off raising your concerns with Sian or one of the stewards on the day as I'm certain that she would have put the fear into God into the silly sods chanting that crap!

Just my personal opinion but I wouldn't have created a post on an internet forum (based on the chants and the miniscule number of offensive chanters) when there is already a feverish anti BU witch hunt taking place amongst a number of regular posters.

Aggressive? Get a grip. I couldn't care less if you believe if it happened or not, it happened!

This was a report on the BU march & what I felt about it - I'm not going to leave things out to suit anyone's agendas.

You may not deem them racist, but I certainly do & even if you don't, they certainly aren't the sort of chants you want to associate with BU.

I didn't say anything as I didn't want to get involved - why didn't you say something to the person who threw the can?

BU are doing themselves no favours by trying to please everyone. Either come out officially as a Tan Out group (after the songs and banners at Sundays march - nobody can try to claim that they aren't) or return to the original format of a peaceful return to blue.

They should also get rid of that Facebook page - so much crap on there about "reds" and glory supporters etc. if they want a discussion forum, they should set up a moderated forum, where this nonsense can be eradicated. It's doing their credibility no good at all.

I don't know anything about any can incident Alex.

We'll have to agree to disagree about the exact nature of the chanting.

I agree that a public statement clarifying the official stance of BU would be welcome regarding their future direction and I've said right from the off that the Facebook page needs to go as it leaves BU open to criticism. I've never hidden my feelings from Sian on that matter.

Sorry Phil, my response was a combined effort for you and Baker.

Whilst I'd prefer a CCFC without Vincent Tan, I'd like to know what the plan is should BU force a Tan out. I think this is what is stopping people from signing up.

Many are also happy to go along with Tan though & would just prefer to see CCFC in blue, but not at the cost of Tan's ownership.

Complicated one & an important decision.

Most people don't understand what the situation would be if Tan left.

If he was to leave tomorrow he would lose all his money. Thats not in a billionaires dictionary that. So therefore Tan is going no where if we are nice or very very rude to him.

The irony is, of course, that Sundays march was never intended to be a Tan Out event. There was certainly no official statement from BU calling for it to be one. That said, following 'Moodygate' there was always going to be calls for Tan to go.

I do agree though that it would be good to see an official statement from BU clarifying things, if only to stop the feeding frenzy. I personally think predictions of BU's demise are premature. Like any organisation they just need to sensibly adapt. I have every faith that the BU leadership will do the right thing

It should be a simple back to blue cause. If successful, it would garner a lot more support & far less vitriol than it's currently getting.

This has been done to death now but from what I've seen of the posts on this board and also the Facebook page is that only this chuckles person heard the alleged racist chants and nobody actually saw the can being thrown. There certainly does seem to be an incredible over reaction to incidents that allegedly took place. When you put these in to context of what happened at Hull with stewards and fans being attacked and also a keeper being attacked during a game then some alleged incidents fade into insignificance. I have today been back in touch with the police ( that we've dealt with whilst arranging and coordinating our events) about the weekends March and protests and they've confirmed to me that no arrests were made and that no reports of damage to buses or any other property have been reported in respect of the BU March.

To be fair, I seen the can being thrown and the culprit who threw it... I had never seen him at any other BU event before so maybe he randomly joined our march because he was thrown out of one of the pubs in the area.

As for the "racist chants" though, as you say - nobody else heard anything racist and even the things Chuckles claims are racist chants aren't even racist ffs- It could be deemed offensive but so eradicating 100 years of identity without consulting the fans... :old:

The irony is, of course, that if Tan does (as has been widely speculated) dispense with the services of Mackay in the next few weeks, then 'Tan Out' will once again be the prevailing mood amongst many Cardiff City fans which is, funnily enough, what happened 6 weeks ago, before everybody swiftly got back into their boxes...

Whilst, I wouldn't currently advocate BU adopting that position, it has to be said that Cardiff City fans are a fickle bunch and there is every chance that in the near future BU will be pushed by weight of fans feelings to adopt a 'Tan Out' line...Rock and a hard place is the expression that springs to mind...

Aaah, the vagaries of football fans
