Annis, thats contrary to what Gwyn said earlier though.
How is he a crook Jinx, he is one of the few people who actually lost his own money at our club rather than make a fortune from it, crooks steal things, what has he stolen, and unless I'm wrong we still owe him 24 million pounds ALA the Langstone debt, can you imagine any other people being prepared to wait this long for their money?
Of course he lost his own money, he paid three million plus to buy the club, has he had that back? he wrote off six million pound in management fees he was to have been paid during his time there, so that's nine million, there is no doubt who ever Langstons are, Sam must have some money invested in them to be part of things, SO YES HE HAS USED AND LOST A LOT OF HIS OWN MONEY, but yes we do owe 24 million to Langstons, this could have been paid back easily out of the assets left at the club when Sam left, but as any been paid back? Lot's of people have and still are making a fortune out of what Sam started at our club, as of yet he ain't one of them.
Why didnt sam sell these assets to cover the debt? maybe he's waited for his money for so long because he doesnt have much choice? A hell of a lot of business people have a few tricks up their sleeve's regarding making money from a business in diferent ways ;) i really dont think he lost money.

70mil in dept and that's not including how ever much langston is? Fukinel I didn't know it was that much dept our club are in lol that's worrying!

Not really that worrying when you look at it. Manchester United are in excess of £500 million debt but because its manageable debts they are still running fine.

Man utd are you for real they turn over are seasons wage budget in a month just by selling the MAN UTD brand, totally diffrent ball game im sorry.

Totally different ball game? They are still in massive amounts of debts but because of exactly what you just stated the debt is manageable. Liverpool are in ridiculous amounts of debt (nearly going into administration before the new owners took over) as are Chelsea.

If you look at 100 football clubs, you will find that 99 of them will be in debt. Even the likes of Barcelona.

But then look at Villa's debt.

Aston Villa announce £53.9m loss for 2010-11 financial year

Aston Villa bosses insist they are satisfied with the club's financial position despite announcing annual losses of almost £54m.

josef wrote:Why do people keep referring to Langston as Langstone, there is no 'e' in it.
The reason why the Malaysians haven't settled the Langston debt is quite simply because they dont have to!
The Malaysians own 49% of the club and the Langston debt is completely unsecured, all or most of the debt owed to the Malaysians,PMG and other sundry creditors has been converted into shares and will take preference over anything owed to Langston in the event of administration, not to mention the reversion of the lease over the stadium land to Cardiff City Council. In any case, the view of most legal pundits is that the Langston debt is legally unenforceable if Sam Hammam is Langston, certainly the view expressed by Lord Justice Briggs in Sam's failed application for summary judgement, because the directors rules pertaining to Fiduciary Relationship will have been breached.
In other words, the Malaysians have Sam stuck behind the 8 ball. One only has to read Joe Sedbrook's book Asian Godfathers to know that Sam is completely out of his depth.

Interesting post, I wonder who wrote it??

With how well Manchester United can bounce £500 + Million of debt (must be running on 5 years now with the highest figure reaching an apparent £800 million) i think itll be a very long time before a big name team will go bust.

I agree again i never said any diff what i was saying is untill one of the top teams go POP and the banks say enough is enough then it will go on forever all clubs will do it, but it will take a club to go under for other clubs to wake up and live within there means. :ayatollah:

It will indeed, i just cant see it happening any time soon, the closest to come to it was Liverpool and Rangers just went into administration and clubs in more debt than them are just laughing at how they can cope and Rangers cant. Funny world is football :old:

1. The debt is now around £50 to £60 million. Trust mne on this one.

2. Forget the summary judgement, it is worthless. Why because the club made an agreement to pay the debt, recommended by the court, and the club entered into agreement and started paying it off. However the club defaulted. There is no way the club can go back to pre judgement agreements.

Spot on Ian, but the debt is higher than that, even the accounts that come out will be a year behind.

All I think about when reading your replies, is walking home to my flat in Grangetown depressed after what i had just witnessed at NP, a bore draw against I think Kiddiminster? Daydreaming of some mad millionaire waking the 'sleeping giant' , bringing in better players, big plans for the future, stuff to get excited about, Welsh International fringe players, and bring a bloody smile to the place. I used to think about that stuff a lot in true computer Football manager style! But who would touch us, with our reputation, and barren and uncertain recent years, the future was indeed very bleak.

Then one day that mad millionaire arrived, did exactly that KICKSTARTED THE ROLLERCOASTER THAT LED US TO SCARING THE LIFE OUT OF ONE OF THE WORLDS MOST FAMOUS CLUBS ON SUNDAY. Didn't agree with all Sams doings, (wearing green!) but when your in the public eye like that taking gambles, risking mistakes that you would be ridiculed for, your gonna create divisions and debate, (lord knows I have made some terrible decisions in my time!) but in my opinion that depressing day in 2000(?) Will always make me grateful that Sam took the punt, and after the gloom they were FUN times!

And thats how this supporter sees it all, without even going into Langstons and signing Jason Byrne!
And all i wanted to say was before the 4 page spread -
Was he is looking well and thats pretty much it :? :ayatollah:

Almost wish I hadn't brought it up now, so as Annis said back to the FOOTBALL, and what a massive game on Sunday, can't wait!

Shit, its the missus birthday on Sunday! she aint gonna be happy!
