WHY CARDIFF AND NOT SWANSEA?

It's not much of a debate, neighbour, it has to be said.

I'm 46 years old.

The start of this thread referred to Swansea players' wives and girlfriends shopping in Cardiff, rather than Swansea. I would much rather do the same - not because I dislike Swansea, as such, but due to the fact that Cardiff has more to offer.

I see many people from Swansea travel to Cardiff on a daily basis to shop there.

My initial feeling was that you were at least my age, if not older. It was only when you suggested that i'd been jumping to conclusions that I began to question that fact. As it turns out, my original assumption was quite correct. To be fair you are far more coherent, and eloquent in dialogue than most of the retarded fuckwits on here, and so I'm guessing that it was for this very reason that led me to believe you were no youngster. However, going back to the original point I made.. You were old enough to make the decision to up sticks, and move away from Cardiff all those years ago, and to Neath of all places. Now forgive me for prying, as there might well be a very personal reason for you reaching the decision that you did, but the point i'm making is it goes against everything that you've said about Cardiff. You were born there, you obviously still have fond memory's of the place, you commute every day there for work, and yet you still choose to live in Neath, a small town on the outskirts of Swansea. Do you get my point?

I think James has made a perfectly valid point. Maybe not most of Cardiff's support comes from Rhondda and the valleys, but certainly a significant number do. Scroll through the contributors to this very thread and you'll see that they hail from such places as Treharris, Tonyrefail, Blackwood, Tonypandy, Aberdare, etc, etc. Therefor some of your supporters come from some of the most deprived areas, not just of Wales, but of the whole of Britain. So next time you look down your long noses at the good folk of Swansea, please remember that many of your own are from far more deprived, and undesirable parts of Wales than Swansea.

as to blackwood, you seem to tarnish it with the same brush as all thing valleys.. I can assure you that it is not..

it has a large growing residential area hence the search radius. i work in a travel agent in blackwood and our turnover is 5.4 million a year, more than our cardiff st davids 2 shop and swansea shop. believe it or not theres quite alot of cash floating around in blackwood. plus it cant be that bad if joe calzaghe chooses to still live there..
