Re: Updated: Cardiff make £7.8m offer

It's starting to look promising with this guy. Think he'll slot in to midfield well with Robertson.

He's a big dude, Kellyman's height by the looks of it. Seems like a box to box player, possibly more defensive though rather than someone who would ever be used as a no.10. Described as 2 footed so, like Roberston, likely effortless on the ball. Good engine/stamina as barely gets subbed when he starts. Has scored quite a few goals recently too (most from outside the box which is exactly what we need). His expected goals per game ratio is lower as well based on the goals he's actually scored so suggests he's accurate in front of goal. Has represented his country right through the age ranges.

Big money but could be a big player for us...fingers crossed we get this over the line.

From what I've seen of him, he's more of a replacement for Rubin not a box to box guy

We haven't replaced Wintle, who is our holding battling midfielder?

We’re not playing in Europe, so it’s not an issue. He’s their player until he’s not, and it makes it even less likely to be signing for Rangers in that case, too! :ayatollah:

Chris, it does seem that he has a real affinity for his home town club which is actually quite nice to see. Hopefully it’s his swansong for them.

Rangers fans absolutely convinced he only wants to join them and will sit back and wait until rangers meet tromsos valuation

My view is there is no way our club have gone on this long and put this much effort in unless the player has shown hes at least open to the idea

Penalty saved. Jens Hjertø-Dahl (Tromsø) right footed shot saved in the centre of the goal.

Our bid for Norwegian player

Thu Jul 23, 2026 6:19 pm

I cant help but think that the money we are bidding with is money from a player sale. Could it be that we have already sold the boy to arsenal or lawlor to West ham or both. As I believe we have to sell to raise money to buy players. Be interesting to see what unfolds.

The player you refer to to arsenal is an academy player wotth peanuts couple hundred grand if lucky due to the rules governing academy to academy sales ... it appears we don't have to sell but if do sell it boosts the budget maybe?

Should knock half a mil off the price. Lower the offer, Ken!

No. The FFP rules are actually helpful to us this season.

I've said for a while that I thought BBM would be backed because Tan genuinely gets on with him, others have said the same.

Some suggestions (nothing concrete so feel free to take it with a pinch of salt) that Tromso will accept our offer tomorrow, they just wanted him to play in this game.

Guess we'll see what happens but I won't be too confident until we heard solid reports of the bid being accepted and the player agreeing terms.

Makes perfect sense in all you say there, Ned

I was told we have two players coming in but not who they were. I believe we are pushing the boat out on Dahl and that a high profile (for us) ‘loan’ will be coming in very soon, too!

Time will tell but I sincerely hope this all goes through! :ayatollah:

Wouldn't they therefore want hom for the 2nd leg as well?

Rangers have signed midfielder Vanuatu Dragojevic from Partisans Belgrade. Could mean they’ve given up on Dahl?

Where does it stop, if they were to go through to the next round? :?

A deal is a deal and has to be concluded at some point. No no one can say it’s not a good deal for Tromso (a record for them) or the boy, who can come to the Championship under a coach he knows can improve him and hopefully set him in his way to bigger things :ayatollah:

Just read this.
Lars Petter Kræmer-Andressen:

"TIL [Tromso] and Cardiff have had a dialogue over a period of time. At the same time, there should be other clubs that are close to the situation, and that means you don't want to rush into any decision. Nothing has been decided."
Is it time to move on

A bit lost in translation but I reckon the club (not the player) have basically said something on the lines of ‘Cardiff have offered xxx and we’re going to accept on Monday unless you come in with a bigger offer’

Re: Updated: Cardiff make £7.8m offer

We need to set them a deadline & walk away if they still want to play silly buggers. If nobody else comes in after we've walked away they'll soon be back with their hands out wanting to make a deal.
