I get what you're saying as it was my first thought as well but it's 86f (30c) there at the moment & I'd like to see you run around for 45 minutes without a break. It's 95f at the moment where I am and I can assure you I'm not walking to the mail box 50 yards away & back until the sun has gone to bed.

But as they're doing it in all the games & it's 3 minutes exactly at the same time every game I can certainly see being skeptical about them.

Wow, Qatar equalise in the 95th minute.

Switzerland have themselves to blame, had loads of chances but didn't take them.

FT: Qatar 1-1 Switzerland

A first ever World Cup point for Qatar.

First of the big hitters up next, as Brazil play Morocco at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey at 11pm.

It certainly is convieniant for a country that likes 4 quarters and adverts in their sport

Morocco deservedly 1-0 up against Brazil.

Saibari with the goal.

I didn’t realize Morocco were only 1place below Brazil in the world rankings. Game on.

I didn't know that either. Morocco look a good team so far, Brazil don't right now.

I would concur.

Scotland 1-0 up just before half time.

FT: Haiti 0-1 Scotland

Not a comfortable night for Scotland, but they start with a big win. Haiti played well to be fair.

Puts them top of their group after the first round of fixtures in that group, after Brazil and Morocco drew earlier.

Australia play League One 5 4 1 and beat Turkey 2 0 . No wonder Popavic ignored Alex Robertson, he doesn't use ballers.
They will probably beat the USA using these tactics too .
The Lincoln City of the World Cup.

I'm supporting Scotland this WC, but i don't think they'll qualify from a hard group. Hope i'm wrong

Last night may end up being enough for them to get through, with some third placed teams going through to the next round.

I fell asleep watching the Australia game just after half time, it just wasn't exciting at all.

I think it is the 3 minutes that made it a conspiracy theory for me. Deffo ad break time.

I get the heat but we've had hot World Cups before and they are professional sportsmen.

I'm only bemoaning USA getting their second World Cup and Mexico their third. We (UK) are still stuck on one.

By the way, do they go to ads over there when the players hydrate?

Curacao equalise, brilliant moment for them.

I'm sure they didn't expect to score a goal today.

Oh yes, was it ever in doubt? They have apparently missed the restart by a few seconds on at least one occasion.

2-1 to Germany just as I was writing this.

It's turned into a dominant day for Germany now, 6-1 up with ten minutes to go.

FT: Germany 7-1 Curacao

The perfect start for Germany.

Next up at 9pm is Netherlands v Japan.

Has the potential to be a good game. A lot of people think Japan will do well in this tournament and Netherlands always add something.

Japan are going to slap Holland, put all your savings on Japan

Re: Germany v Curacao " FIFA World Cup 2026 "

I thought Curacoa played quite well & the 7-1 score line didn't really reflect the game. At least they came to play football & not just park the bus.

0-0 between Netherlands and Japan at half time.

Not got going yet, probably the worst match of the tournament so far based on those 48 minutes. Hopefully improves.
