the whole team are second to the ball, they need to buck their ideas up, bbm has to switch something about at half time or not long after, please can we get rid of willock he offers absolutely nothing

Port vale are really not that good, if they were we would be a couple of goals down. We just seemed to be play like a training session knocking the ball about with all the time in the world, crossing the ball like we don’t really care.
I hope the second half changes rapidly.

Well that was shite

It’s all about one thing and that’s because they’re too physical for us.

They’re bossing the midfield for that reason.

This is what league one is all about

Joel Colwill and Kpakio only players looking ok out there.
Trott looks sound enough.

But it's a cup final for most teams we visit so we aren't going to dominate and destroy everyone.
We showed on Sat we can win nice, we need to show we can win ugly also.

Big difference today is that we are up against men and away from home. Peterborough also had a young team who tried to play football. We played great and were better than them but this time they are much bigger and more physical. I’m sure Bbm has a plan for this but it’s going to happen this year

Welcome to league one. Outplayed by a more aggressive long ball team. Tanner, Willock and Chambers awful plus we've reverted to slow and ponderous from the back.BUT we've kept going and its 0v0. Vale will tire. BBM over to you.

Could easily have been 2 down , no pressing Overrun in midfield. I don't think their rt wing back has been in his own half.. Chambers terrible hardly seen Rubin not much support fir Salech.

Started confident then let port vale grow into the half.
Not 100% sold on the new keeper but i guess it will take him time to bed into the team
0-0 at half time - we can still win
great link in play between the players

Didn't expect Nathan Trott to be our best player in the first half

I still say chambers is not a centre half I've been saying it since last season we defo need a big centre half maybe with abit of experience not another youngster

I'm more positive than most but let's be fair, it was a really poor half.

A reality check

More intensity from PV. These were a League Two side last season. We need to match their intensity as a minimum. Tanner been dreadful, don’t see the appeal of Willock personally, never have, no one playing well.


Side note, really like the PV home kit.

Dreadful first half.

Can't win a second ball for 45 mins.

Lawlor and all the other younger ones who look like they are built like 14 year olds getting bullied on every high ball and 2nd ball.

Hardly anyone tracking runners on there one two passes.

Long balls miles off to who there suppose to go to from the donkey center half who ain't a center half in a million years.

Willock needs to work harder much harder.

Tanner looks well off it.

The lone striker thing isn't working either nore are the wide man touchline tactic either.

The list could go on but it's 0-0 somehow by a miracle. One plus is Joe is getting stuck in unlike the others.

Has to be changed 2nd half surely

maybe fish/daland can partner lawlor in defence instead of chambers but i guess it's unfair on chambers as its his 1st game start this season

Agree with you both! Bagan not the most skilful but got a vital foot in to half block a great chance and enable Trott to save.
However, we have been poor and are lucky to be level. We have a good centre forward in Salech, so lets get him into the game.

Our wide players have had plenty of space but they haven’t put one decent ball in between them.. just need to whip it in with some pace for Salech

Men against boys. Being outmuscled all over the park.
Vale are aggressive and get the ball forward quickly whilst City plod sideways and backwards.
f**k Chambers being captain, get him off as well as Willock who’s just going through the motions and sherking out of every challenge.
Tanner… yeah new contract and can’t cross a ball.
City have returned to last seasons woes where if a team puts us under pressure physically, we fall apart and make stupid errors. So lucky not to be at least 3 down.
I’m not sure whether to like Trotts confidence with the ball or be frustrated as he’s gonna give me a bleedin heart attack.
BBM needs to sort them out. They need to play as fast as he talks!

it was poor but the players grinded it out for half time and better delivery to salech we could have scored a goal
but yeah the players looks panicky once they lose the ball in dangerous areas.
If we keep the confident play we had for the 1st 10-15 minutes then who knows but it will only get better for us
in the 2nd half.
