Yep! Nice with a point away against a championship contender! Should be pleased with that.

Gutted I didn't get to watch the game, but really exited to watch highlights and read match reports. Did anyone stand out, you think? Positive og negative?

Can't wait for the first home game - hopefully a fortress this season! :ole:

We have new ones coming in next week don't we?

Yeah but Hudson having the experience he has, and the reputation of a calm reliable leader, really disappointed me today

No, I wanted us to at least have an option to attack. We never countered once, we just hoofed it forward and sat back, happy with a point.

We have new lads that need to bed in and learn the league, fitness will be an issue early on, there were promising signs today, most of all K Jones, I'm confident and happy with the point

Can tell our fans have been spoiled in recent months. The last manager would have had us camping in our own half for 90 minutes, Ole has our guys do it for 30 and it's all doom and gloom! :D

Look, that was a tough game and we played well. Blackburn got a goal at a great time and pressed on from there. We were the away team against a top club in this division, and we took a point off them. I'd rather that than lose 3 points to them!

I think some people have it in their heads that we are going to win every game 5-0 no matter the opposition, and I don't understand where that thinking comes from. We've spent countless years in this division, we should no better than most that nothing comes easy in this league.

Lots of positives to take, very few negatives.

Don't agree James. The ref had it in for Hudson today. Thought the back four were good as a unit, especially when you consider they have probably never played together in a competitive game before.

Huds has barely played in a year. For me he did well and he even popped up with an assist today. :ayatollah:

we weren't happy with the point, blackburn just kicked us to death, we needed a fluid three in midfield that were prepared to bite too. Daehli was ineffective today, i was dissapointed with Maynard. This was the type of game where we needed Mutch.

little bit disappointed with Marshall. i think he should done better to save that shot

for the back four, i'm happy with their hard work, good positioning, tackling and heading but really annoyed with their hoofball (except Fabio). It's make City's midfield didn't work for the whole 90 minutes and even Daehli didn't make any significant contribution in this match

terrible display from the midfield. Hopefully, someday football will follow basketball's rules. So when City get a set piece, Whitts come in and he got off again after he take the set piece :laughing6: Gunnar make some good challenge but like others, didn't give so much pass to the front line. Daehli looks smaller than before for this match :laughing6: i don't understand why ALF be a RMF this time, so rarely to watch a player with #10 play in right side. I think tt's not his natural position so i understand that he can't perform well this time.

Jones, good heading from him but he had to be careful with his celebration :laughing6: and Maynard, deserve to be replaced with Macheda or Guerra (if available) for the next match :sleepy2:

1-1 at final score, not good enough for the start of season but at least it's a point. So it's not useless for me to wake up at 1.00 am to watch this game. time to :sleepy2: again

First game for 8 months , controlling the back line , no clear cut chances , screaming orders at attacking corners not bad for a bad game  , but who will lead our side beside him :!:

he wasn't poor, he was just pretty decent, gunnarson was poor for not giving the midfield bite that we had to send Adeyemi on for. Should've closed down for their goal, otherwise a solid defense.

He screamed orders because that's a defenders job, he knows his role but for someone of his quality he have too much away and wasn't his usual reliable self.

And Marshall has been named vice captain.

To be honest James I personally don't think Marshall will influence the team enough , as for Hudson with a few more games under his belt he'll be a lot more like his old reliable self

You may be right on Hudson, but as for the captaincy, we don't know what the players are like in the changing room before the game and at half time ;)
That's why he's been picked

the biggest lesson i took from this game is that ole needs to anticipate the play of his opponents more and develop his tactics around that, i said before the game that it would be decided by the midfield and i was right. he should've seen that we needed to be tougher and started burgstaller instead of maynard and adeyemi instead of Gunnarson. Otherwise very pleased

I would rather say the game was decided in the boxes, and we did well to dig out a result.

I'm not a great tactcian but to me we gave them too much space. They seemed to find their men too easily and we only denied them space when they came close to our box. Even then they got enough crosses in towards Rudy (who looks better than when he was with us). I would like us to press teams more in midfield. At this level they don't have the skill to hold onto the ball under pressure. We need much more "pass and move" from our own midfield. :bluescarf:
