Of course it is a good idea - its kind of the whole point.![]()
So you seem to have changed your issue from a copyright issue to selling shirts in competition with the club? Which one is it brains?![]()
I could make a shirt with the word apple on it and there is nothing anybody could do about it. If it accompanied the apple logo however - then it is a different matter.
If you are going to talk rubbish then at least make it consistent

Even the iPhone bluebird cover might be an issue. But they are not in direct competition with club merchant. This one is.

And we are back to square one.would have helped if you decided to give a constructive reply rather your waffle. Lets try again....
The image isnt copyrighted by the club, neither is the colour blue, and neither are the concept of t-shirts.
So again, what is copyrighted for them to have a legal case?
The only legal case i can see is the visit wales logo if copyrighted, but dont see why they would have an issue as it isnt a saleable product but a company intended to for advertisement and promotion.
after all, it's not a Cardiff City shirt, right Sun Jun 01, 2014 8:00 am

Of course they can peruse it, but it would be an expensive and fruitless exercise. Unless they are using a registered trademark belonging to the club then im afraid its tough titties. The shirts dont even look at all similar.
Good on the guys who made them

Then we have a difference in opinion. My original post advised to make sure there is no legal issues before selling them and advertising them on here.
hmmm not quite. You made it pretty clear there WAS legal issues yet couldnt back that up at all.
You say go for it. If you don't see this as tapping into the club merchant, you don't. But without a clearance from the club it might be a costly one.
of course it is. As is the club tapping into the customers of this shirt. As is a new brand of coffee tapping into nescafes customers. Unless there is clear evidence of ripping the clubs ideas or trademarks off then there is no case.
This shirt displays none of the above.
If you want to spend your day splitting hairs to try win another argument, go right ahead. But you wouldn't dear invest 10£, and you know exactly why..
splitting hairs?this isnt splitting hairs pal, you are saying its illegal and im telling you it is not - thats a major talking point not splitting hairs

I wouldnt invest in it for the reasons stated. The official cardiff jersey is legal and i havent invested in that either![]()

No issues at all. Anyone can sell a t-shirt. There is no likeness, hence the reason they are being sold. If there was likeness issue then there would be no need to make them. They are not in any way contravening any legal standing.
I will happily place a bet they wont be challenged on it. Yet im sure nobody will take that bet up, more fun to argue

I have to agree with Roathie, plus the club would make themselves look fools if they even tried as they dont want anything to do with our proud traditions.
The National and World press would back the person.![]()
Even the latest of many incidents by our club now regarding the despicable red seats and not giving fans their money back, was all over the Spanish press and it made our club look pathetic once again.

So if I call my ipad a loaf of bread will Microsoft be getting a call from Hovis? What someone labels it as is irrelevant, it is what IT IS that is what gets looked at.
And it is a t-shirt with no copyright issues what so ever on it.

Greggs are tapping into simons bakery too. Asda are tapping into tesco customers. Superdry and tapping into hollister
Etc etc etc
Nature of business. No issue
The shirts DO NOT resemble eachother.
