I wouldnt even know where to look regarding a foreign newspaper, even if we were talking about the champs league. What does foreign newpaper got to with it anyway? You know as well as I do it is a major trophy, anything is a major trophy when it provides a route into europe.

I havent said i think he will be here next season have I? :?

Doubt if many would consider the Welsh cup a major trophy, provides a route into Europe though.

I have a lot of fans all wanting to talk to me, im surprised it isnt more considering the volume of posts im expected to respond to. My posts also probably attract the most attention out of anyone on the forum.

Comes with the territory.

Don't agree with you on this one. Was considered a Mickey Mouse cup by Cardiff and Swansea supporters when the European Cup Winners Cup was Europe's second biggest trophy. The only worthwhile thing about the Welsh Cup was the route into Europe. Check out the attendances at some of the finals, that gives an indication of how attractive that tournament was.

Of course it was, we are rivals. If we got to the Europa League final many would have said the same.

Any trophy with a European spot attached to is a major trophy. There is no agreeing or disagreeing, that is just the way it is.

Lets assume then that the Welsh Cup is a major trophy then. It doesn't mean that you have to be a good side to win it. Recent winners are not exactly going to strike fear into the hearts of their opponents -Inter Cable tel, Prestatyn, The New Saints etc. The Football League Cup(as I still call it), is not taken too seriously by the big clubs, and often used to give fringe team players a bit of game time. I think that with the exception of the Premiership and the Champions League, most other tournaments are now perceived as being second rate, even looked at as being a distraction to more important things. The Europa Cup has had an adverse effect on Swansea this season, and could have cost them a place at the top table, costing them millions in the process. Looks like they will avoid relegation by the skin of their teeth, quite possibly by only goal difference, or 1 or 2 points at best. Think that's why some would consider these domestic cups as minor, rather than major trophies.

could say the same regarding any competition, even the champions league. I wouldnt be scared to play Porto.

The Football League Cup(as I still call it), is not taken too seriously by the big clubs, and often used to give fringe team players a bit of game time.

yet the history books show us that most of the past winners are some of the best teams in the land and across Europe.

I think that with the exception of the Premiership and the Champions League, most other tournaments are now perceived as being second rate, even looked at as being a distraction to more important things. of course it is a smaller cup, doesnt mean it isnt a major trophy though. Thats crazy, its like saying the european championships isnt a major tournament because the World cup is bigger and better.

You wont find many sources claiming the league cup is not a major trophy - there is a reason for that.
