Monk and Curt are only caretaker managers at present. As for Laudrup it wasn't so much that he didn't have the ability to turn things round, he just looked like he couldn't be arsed to try. Going to be rocking there this saturday, not for the faint hearted. Fires back in the belly.

I don't see this causing us alarm bells. They're going to come at us in those first 15-20 minutes, psyched by Monk, but I envision us controlling the pace after that. Regardless if who their manager is, their squad is full of foreign players who clearly don't give a f**k about the derby - their lack of effort last time out was shocking.

Only worry is, we've looked more open in those first 20 minutes than at any other time in previous games. If we can ride out the early storm, we can really take it to them.

That said, and early goal for US would be great. They'd go into meltdown.

I posted on this forum a few days ago under the 'A Call to Arms' thread that I was fed up with the jack piss takers posting on here and that they needed to realise that their downfall is waiting just around the corner - F**k me - ITK!!

My take on the effect of ML going just before the Derby is that part of the jack squad will still be up for it but the Spanish group will be even less up for it than they were in the game at the CCS - They will all have an eye on the Summer aeroplane flight timetable out of Swansea - in fact their chances of keeping the likes of Michu have just dropped to less than zero.

The first goal scored will be massive - if we get it the jack crowd will turn on Spew, Monk and F Troop and we will win in style - if they score first they might sneak a draw ;) :ole: ;)

A lot of the Spanish players were fed up of him as well I am told. Questions over training methods, fitness levels etc..

I was dreading saturday, but now I can't wait. It's going to be a classic!

Good post. Remember, Garry Monk with two 'r's is now the gaffer. And there is a clear split between the Spanish Tippy-Tappers and the Garry Monk Happy-Chappies. Only recently, Chico's offering to Garry with two 'r's was the traditional Spanish offering of a car-park house-bricking to 'cement' their relationship. (Boom Tish). (http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25834951). Bueno Noches.

P.S. Has anyone seen my phone? I've just used my 'Find My Device' App and apparently the last call was by a Mr N Dyer or MC SmartThief?

Do you think Monk could hack it as a manager in the long-term? I know he's only a short-term appointment, but one thing can lead to another. If he steers the club away from danger, he may end up with the job full-time.

from what I seen of them, they looked pedestrian when being asked to get forward....Shelvey is'nt a tiki-taka extraordinaire, rather an average passer who takes too many touches, slows the pace down. Good shot though in fairness to Gollum.
Hernandez is the worst signing they made in my opinion, slow and not effective.

dont see what the fuss is about.m.l said at the begining of the season he would honour his contract.it only had a year to go.with the cup win his stock was high then and was basically saying i,ll move on to percieved bigger and better things in a year.no jack would have expected him to stay next year if they had being doing well this season.the fact m.l seems to have been treading water and was producing poor results makes it a easier desicion to sort it out now.put it like this.if scfc go down it wont be from lack of effort from monk and curtis will it?i think it will galvanise swansea .saturday isnt the be all and end all for both teams.a win is good but im sure each set of fans would suffer defeat if they pulled away from the drop zone afterwards.i expect a more homegrown swansea on saturday.presuming they are fit of course.they are hardly in crisis.dont think you,ll find many jacks crying over laudrup getting the bullet

Swansea City Supporters' Trust back Michael Laudrup sacking
By South Wales Evening Post | Posted: February 05, 2014

SWANSEA City Supporters’ Trust have given their backing to the club’s decision to axe Michael Laudrup.

A statement from the trust, who hold a 20 per cent stake in Swansea, said Laudrup’s exit was no shock.

“Whilst many supporters will have been surprised by the timing of the decision, there have been various rumours in recent weeks and the trust has been aware of growing concerns amongst the Swansea City board about the team’s performance in the Premier League,” said trust chairman Phil Sumbler.

“During its tenure at the club the current board, including a representative of the supporters’ trust, have made key decisions which have taken the club forward and ultimately we believe that this decision has been taken with the best interest of the Club in mind.

“There has inevitably been a mixed reaction amongst fans to the announcement, with the club facing a critical period of key matches in three major competitions.

“However we know, from our supporter director, Huw Cooze, that the board have not taken this decision lightly, particularly in such an important week for the club.

“It’s vital that we now all pull together to give the team our full support. We all want to see an upturn in results and what better place to start than at the Liberty Stadium against Cardiff City.”

Bad timing for the rat eaters, the players will be confused, some will be trying to do what Laudrup was telling them the others trying to remember what Monk is telling them and the Spanish will be asking the translator whats going on and can they all sit together again and have coco pops :ayatollah:

To add to their problems our new players will have had a full extra week to settle in !!!!

It's fair to say the players look happy enough with the decision given their demeanour in training today.

Nice piece of positive propaganda, put out by the club to be fair  All smiles and back slapping, it has cost your club £5 million to make a change that you won't know for a few games was for the better or not. Decisive moment for Swansea City, your chairman gets it wrong again and it could financially ruin you. I have never even heard Monk speak publicly, so haven't got a clue if he can manage, I suspect though, that he has no managerial ability

Think you have got ahead of yourself there. Dyer has a good record scoring wise against you and totally changed the game v Fulham when he came on as they put up 2 banks of 4. Britton you can never leave out - he's the heartbeat and one of Laudrups biggest mistakes in dropping him. Pozuelo is a very tricky player behind the striker - check out his assist for Michu in the europa league.

But it looks like Vorm may start and Michu may make a cameo late on. Just don't give Bony any space or he will punish you.

I think you'll see a more Martinez like swansea saturday, not the lacklustre performances of late with us not pressing, I'm expecting high ball retention and possession utilizing our widemen which creates space where it should be in the box - something Laudrup failed to grasp as he had our wide men playing inside far too much so its congested.

Interesting post. Do you habitually abuse fans of other clubs who post on here because of an in-built inferiority complex? Psychologists would tell you that your behaviour in constantly trying to demean other people shows a distinct lack of conviction in your own opinions and your own arguments. It's an attempt to deflect the weakness of your statements. Can you not respond without the abuse? Why do you feel the need to do this?

Michael Laudrup has claimed that he was not allowed to visit Swansea City’s training ground to bid farewell to his former players after he was sacked as manager of the club this week.

Didn't ever say I was clever sunshine. To be honest, I'm not sure what points you have ever raised because as soon as I see your username, (and many others of the Obsessed, apart from ScotsJack and Ken Barlow), I just scan past your drivel. Also, when you eventually grow some pubes, you will learn that one of lifes key rules is to never 'debate' with an idiot. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with years of experience. And you have every sign of being one prize idiot.
