Did you not understand my question? Using ridiculous analogies again to hide the fact that you have been placed Ina sticky situation. Don't go down the gases are largely made of atoms again please, it was embarrassing last time.
Is it not people who decide if an event or person can be described as legendary by using that adjective when describing the action or person?

Uppity? Just calling it as it is

Of course people decide who legends are you tool. Is there some magic formula required then? Does a computer print a certificate out as soon as certain criteria are met, taking people out of the equation? As suggested on here Man U fans will determine his legendary status over time, not you.

Absolutely uppity with your jibes. Calm down man

Nope, im afraid thats not the case. Are you suggesting now that Frazier Campbell is a legend because a cardiff fan decided he was? Legends come to the forefront by their own achievements. They don't need people to pick them out of a crowd, they rise above the crowd.

I will repeat. Any legend could have a statue in their honour without question marks - they are legends. It would be ridiculous in the extreme to have on of OGS.

Legend status is the highest accolade you can achieve at a club... Yet when you compare someone like Solskjaer to someone like Ryan Giggs or Dennis Law it seems a little ridiculous doesnt it? But why? Because one is a true legend and the other is a fans favourite with a modern distorted "legend" status attached. You get called a legend for downing a pint in 6 seconds these days.

The irony of you calling somebody uppity :laughing6:
Repeat all you want your not the person who decides. I'm not suggesting anything about Campbell or pint drinkers either.

I'm intrigued as to how people don't decide who legends are

There is no irony there carps :?

Where have I said that I decide? You have suggested fans decide who is a legend yet dont think Campbell is even though a cardiff fan said he was... Where is the sense? Yet you know hes not because he isnt fitting of the title, his achievements speak for themselves.

Ive explained to you how people dont decide who legends are. Their achievements pick themselves. Legends achieve greatness through their incredible actions to which you may not see too often. Yet Solskjaers main achievement (scoring winner in champions league) is seen every year guaranteed. His goal has made him a fans favourite and will never have to buy a drink again in Manchester as a result... But he is not a legend.

You're comparing a single viewpoint with the view of the masses. Hence a random posting on a forum doesn't lead to legend status, but a consensus amongst fans over a period of time does. Who interprets achievements as being worthy of legendary status? People! Otherwise you can define criteria and once the right boxes have been ticked that's it, you're a legend!

But it's not that simple now is it? Legendary status can come from different forms of the game. Great goals, number of goals, appearances, key goals, tackling prowess, defensive solidity, creativity with the ball, etc etc. Even the slur of " sub" you dismissed him with could be the source of his legendary status. Fairclough is still remembered as the "super sub".
It's how a player is remembered by the fans over time that creates legends.

Fans are people. The people decide.

I do believe Denis Law already has a statue at Old Trafford.

the masses mean nothing. The masses supported genocide against the Jews in the 40's were they roght to do so? No.

Nobody needs to interpret what achievements are worthy of legendary status. They are already there. Their outstanding actions on the pitch do the talking. Ole Solskjaers on field achievements are not much different to many United strikers not considered legends. For large parts of his career he sat watching from the bench.

disagree entirely and again you are crossing into the realms of fans favourite. You can not be a legend for a great goal, its just nonsense. By its definition: legend is something scarcely believable. Truly outstanding achievement and overall contribution head and shoulders above the rest. Solskjaer is not a legend.

Fans are people. The people decide.

disagree entirely.

Knots? You are just being silly

There will also be a ball in the statue yet the statue isnt of the ball, and neither is it of solskjaer. It would be a moment in time in tribute to a great match and champions league win.... Not a great man.

Which bit are you struggling with?

Still haven't answered the question William, shall we repeat it until you do?
Is it people who determine if an event or person are worthy of the adjective legendary.
Do not avoid it this time!
It is an easy question, you afraid of getting it wrong William?
