As far as proof a) we are no longer posting hundreds of shirts a week to korea b) the number of korean posters has fallen to zero on ps c) the articles in korean press seemed to have dried up d) they said themselves they werent Swansea fans they were ki fans. Time for the FA to step up to the plate and do something useful for the good of the game.

I think all long established clubs should be heritage listed or something to protect the badges and colours to maintain clubs' histories and traditions but more importantly clubs' links to their communities.

This could stop all sorts of shenanigans like MK Dons, Cardiff Red Dragons and Hull Puddycats etc.

Really interesting discussion. I see it that there are two sides of this story:
1 (where I stand) the fans. Football, at its purest sense, is enjoyed by the fans getting behind a team because (usually) it represents their local area and in turn represents them. The history of a team name and nicknames came from the historical significance of that team and the fans affinity with it. In short what is happening to Hull and happened to AFC Wimbledon sits bitterly with fans due to this....and as a fan I. Am disgusted however.....the view of
2 the club and in turn owner. Football and the teams in the english professional league, like it or not,are a huge business that in turn means big money business men get involved where loyalty, fans voice and historical significance doesn't matter. All that matters is the continuous drive to make the "brand" sellable to a larger market which in turn will make them more money(that's the theory). This is the crocks of the disconnect with fans. Hull, like every club, is funded by a business man who is NOT looking at the team for his historical significance or the love of the game. Do you really think Abromovich, Tan or any others really care for the club and its historical roots? They want the team to do well, because the brand does well and in turn profits should do well.

Recent Boxing Day I found myself at a rugby game of Bristol v Moseley (don't judge me)....the money baker for Bristol is a guy called Steve Lansdown (of Hargreaves and Lansdown). As i was trying to get to grips with a mixed crowd I overheard from a fan discussion behind me that due to his desire for Bristol sport to improve he had put significant money into both rugby and Bristol City football. This got me thinking why would likes of Vincent Tan, Glaziers or Roman Abramovich get invovled in a team or even sport they have no affinity with...simple.....money or brand credibility, not for the historical significance, the fans or even the name of the club. I, as a fan, think it is disgusting however I cannot see how it will stop because with the huge salaries of players and bonuses a money backer is needed at every club....hopefully they will be a good one with correct intentions, Steve Lansdown, but in the whole they look at the profit and loss account before the name or location of the team.
