In my honest opinion, stats are very good & the use of sport science and statisticians are clearly a benefit... But for me you're over reliant on stats.

As waddle says - stats may show Canas as performing better, but for him there's no doubt that Britton is the better player. I'd agree with him too.

Just my opinion.

In fact, Roberto Mancini employed a team of statistical analysts which had to provide him with the data 5 mins before half time so he could prepare his team talk. That data would be similar to the kind of data we are looking at here.

If its good enough for Mancini its good enough for me.

If Britton is the better player then his stats will show that come seasons end. Britton may be the better player, but Canas is performing better so far this season.

This is why this thread is an ongoing thing.

Couple of things pointed out on the radio was that sometimes a dummy can create a goal, or even standing still can create the space for other players to take advantage off. Making the right runs pulls defences out of shape.

Where do stats reflect these things?

And its a good point. However how many times do dummies set up goals? Movement granted is something that isnt covered, however in this instance that would affect the likes of Britton more than Medel who is far more of a static DM. Making runs without the ball for a DM isnt really something that they do. That is more for an attacking player, but certainly I agree with that.

Sub par performance by Britton today. Should have gone for Canas in my opinion as the in form player. Passing accuracy was good but there was no bite to his game today as im sure the stats will show.

Ill do the update tomorrow as its 3am and I cant be arsed to wait for them to update. Thats all from me for now folks

After a 9 weeks absence and huge calls for this thread to be returned, what better time than Xmas week. My gift to the forum. :D

Well there isnt much change since our last uodate and indeed not much between any of them at all to be honest. Canas continues to lead the way whos performances have been consistantly solid. Medel's passing accuracy has taken a considerable nose dive and is now the first of our 3 players to have dipped below 90% and stands at 88.4%.
