I buy my fruit from the supermarket because its cheaper. He buys his from a market where they offer deals, thats why its cheaper FFS. If you go to a green grocers, it will cost you more than the supermarket.

Not everyone buys all of that though. For me I worked it out and its cheaper for me to buy from a supermarket based on that. Weirdly, the fruit and veg I like is cheaper in the supermarket.
Also, you went from green grocers and butchers and supporting your local high street shops to market stalls now. Make your mind up FFS. Markets are often cheaper because they can offer deals and use them to get it sold. Without those deals the markets would struggle due to skepticism over the freshness and quality by a lot of people who stick to supermarkets.
Also Gala Apples are terrible. Granny Smith Apples FTW. #AgainstModernApples

My local butcher is more expensive but I still go there for the same reasons you just posted. Im just saying to Brownie for other things that I need LIDL is a cheaper option but he won't accept it. I know first hand as I've been all around the town up here. Its cheaper to go to LIDL than it is to use the local shops on the main street as he puts it.
Im willing to pay a premium on meat from the butchers because I don't want water pumped rubbish as you said. I pay the premium on that and save elsewhere to make the difference. I don't see a problem with that.
Brownie thinks he's in some sort of niche clique whereby only he and a select few go to local shops and is some sort of icon we must all follow. When LIDL is right next to the local shops as is the case in Aber it doesn't make much difference where you go in terms of location as its all close knit but when you can save money by going to LIDL then that is a factor I will take into account.
Of course Brownie knows the prices of Aberystwyth's local shops and supermarkets off the back of his hand. I wonder if he can also tell me how much an apple in Ibiza costs?
