FRAZIER CAMPBELL £7MILLION !!!

Tue Dec 18, 2012 7:26 pm

Hull City have apparently given their manager Steve Bruce the go-ahead to launch a £7million bid for Frazier Campbell from Sunderland.

If that is the sort of money to sign him then I would say leave it there and move to another target.

I know Malky has a very good budget this January to sign players to come straight in to the first eleven but that is a ridiculous price for Campbell.

Opinions ?

And according to certain media outlets, Brighton are preparing a £4million bid for Charlie Austin.

If we could structure a payment where we could pay so much now and so much based on promotion, appearances and maybe goals scored then would Austin be a better option ?

Campbell signed for sunderland for £3.5m and has been mostly injured since then. I'm not sure how his value can have increased so can't believe anyone would pay £7m for him.

Given the current financial state of CCFC, if any club accepted such a structured offer they would be barking mad imho.

Although I appreciate that my humble opinion is not really of any relevance here

Neither of those signings would increase an away teams crowd by thousands against us would they? Or be truly premier class ? ;)

Frazier not worth that at all. Compare him to Michu and its a joke. Would rather buy Austin or Graham.

Carl you have recently been dropping subtle hints towards a potential (Dare I say) Marquee name,
And I remember Annis suggesting possibility of Malkys biggest signing to date.

Campbell @£7m is neither of the above. That is only a waste of £7m.

I have stated who I would like to see come in January, but I listened to Graham Hunter (I think) on Keys and Gray today and he suggested a possible mass exodus from Spain of reasonably priced players (look at Michu£2m steal).

All looking at playing in UK.

Surely there are only 4 or 5 that would increase an away teams crowd by thousands against us ......

It's obviously Steven Gerrrrrarrrrd inni lol

There is no marquee signing. There are offers made and they are yet to be concluded.

I'd like to see Chris Wood or Charlie Austin and if not those Danny Graham.Campbell is injury prone and has not proven himself in top flight. Danny Graham would be better and cheaper. Graham got 14 goals last season which is a good return and he is proven at champ level as well.

Sorry, but when Carl suggests that Campbell is not THE marquee signing, that sounds to me that there IS in fact a marquee signing coming in.

Neither of them mentioned are or would be classed as marquee signings.

This/These so called marquee signing/s.....have they actually had much game time recently? Just hoping it's not a Michael Owen (see Robbie Fowler) signing :o

Marquee signings don't always work. Would prefer to see 2 full backs (Trippier of Burnley plus a quality left back) and Wood or Austin up front.

Campbell would be ideal but not at 7m, especially with his injuries.

Austin I don't mind at 4m but I just have a guy feeling he will flop after a move.
