he's 6ft whatever, if i was that height i'd win everything in the air aswell!... he scored 1 goal, but still nowhere near good enough!

Clearly your crusade against him has blurred your judgement.

No he isn't very good and yes we need better but I find it hard to believe anyone who watched the game would think he didn't make a positive impact today.

He won nearly everything when he came on and scored. If our defence had played properly today that could have been a winner

Credit to Rudy.

People need to give the fella a break, he's hardly had a chance.

Yes lets just smash the ball up to the big fella. Real positive.

The guile and craft of Kimbo and Maaon left on the bench for THAT thing.

Dear oh dear.

I genuinely don't understand some people's reactions towards him.

Its all about opinions and that's fair enough but to me, Rudy hasn't had a fair crack yet and has
been unlucky with injuries.

Bookmarked ;) :ayatollah:

When he came on, all we did was lob long balls up to him the hope he'd win some of them......great football to watch! - it also rarely produces results, and today was a case in point.

While, at the same time, we've got really good footballers like Kimbo and Mason sitting on the bench.

He came on won headers and scored a goal ffs
We were lumping it up in the air and doing long balls before he came on do we blame him for that to

Rudy did well when he came on today as he has done on a number of occasions this season and we should recognise that. In reality Rudy has a role to play within the squad and that role involves coming on when we are chasing a game, like Ipswich and Charlton away, because his height and physical presence give our opponents different problems to deal with.

Rudy has 3 assists and 1 goal from only 231 minutes on the pitch so he does make a contribution and in my opinion every team needs players like him.

Should he start games, No, but until we get a replacement for Maynard he deserves his place on the bench. The bigger question in my opinion is why Joe Mason did n't get on the pitch today because his record over the last two seasons for accuracy of shooting is unbelieveable. Last season 74% of his shots at goal were on target and this season it is 79%.

Today Helguson missed a couple of absolute sitters and stats tell us Joe Mason would of hit the target :?

Rather than Mutch I believe Joe Mason should have come on and that's something MM needs to think long and hard about. In his post match interview he talks about not being clinical enough.

Joe Mason is clinical and should have played at least some part today.

he doesnt get credit he deserves really when ever he comes on he wins balls and knocks them down for others you take look at his assists they are not bad! he needs game time to adjust to champ thats why he appears off the pace! ;)

Put in a cracking ball at one point but as usual no one was attacking it

I didn't see the point in the kev sub tbh, yes he was poor but I don't think having Gunnar come on offered us anything to change a 2-0 deficit.

Brining on Mason earlier and then Rudy a bit later I reckon would hav had more of an impact.

Mcnaughts was injured. To be honest felt Taylor was worse than him all game

I agree Kev was poor but so were many others and taking him off was a waste of a subsitution. Far better to have found a way of getting Mason on, maybe taking Conway or Noone and moving Bellamy wide and like you say maybe Rudy for Helguson if we were still chasing the game. Also if Gunnarsson was the final sub bring him on for Cowie that would have been a more attacking subsitution.

Re: Well done Rudy Gestede

I would have been tempted to take Taylor off and go three at the back, Kevs pace would have helped Turner and Connaly no end and we could have had an extra man on the middle and pushed Witts up.

Re: Well done Rudy Gestede

Sat Dec 15, 2012 9:41 pm

Rudy is a better player than a lot give him credit for on here, the boy did okay, might have even started, perhaps would have taken some of Helguson's chances.

Re: Well done Rudy Gestede

Sat Dec 15, 2012 9:45 pm

The same people that slated Helguson are the same ones that slate Rudy. They just like to moan. It is in their DNA.

Rudy will come good just like Helguson did. I believe in the players and thankfully we have a manager who does as well.

Oh right thought it was an injury as he went straight down the tunnel. To me he wasnt that bad just typical poor distribution. It might be worth thinking that since Malky has come in as manager Mcnaugton has been playing poorly
