I think it is extremely bad that us students get stereotyped. We aren't all bad. Some of us just want to have a few pints at the expense of the taxpayer and do nothing all day. We don't harm anyone.![]()

A mortgage? No I won't. Its income based. 9% of your earnings over £15,000.
Its basically a tax on future earnings until I pay it back.
Also, seeing as I am moving abroad I do not care.![]()

That applies to students who started this year and I quote;
In the UK, borrowers only make repayments if their income is above £21,000. The same theory applies overseas, although the thresholds vary from country to country. For example, in France the lower income threshold is £25,200, while in India it’s just £8,400.
I pay back when I earn over £15,000 under the previous system. Obviously I will pay back my loan if I move abroad but it still is only a percentage of income. I will be able to live quite happily without a problem.

About £20,000.
If I get a £30,000 job which is possible as I've already been offered £26k positions before graduation but want to get my degree to have something to fall back on.
I will pay back £2700 per year. Hardly a massive amount if Im earning £30k in the first instance. I will just do freelance work to make up the difference as well.
£51 per week out of a ~£576 per week wage. Then obviously you have tax and NI to come out of that. More than enough to live on.![]()
