Carl any ideas wo the striker might be??/carlccfc wrote:The latest news on our recently injured players is that Kevin McNaughton, Andrew Taylor and Don Cowie are all fit to play if selected on Sunday versus Sheffield Wednesday.
Ben Turner is training and will be assessed closer to Sunday before a decision is made.
Sunday will be a little too soon for Tommy Smith but the medical staff are confident that he will be fit for the Blackburn trip.
Kadeem Harris has resumed full training after his recent set back in the development game he was involved in.
Malky Mackay and Iain Moody have a long list of players and the dossiers have been prepared, Vincent Tan has given the to ahead to spend in January and it is in the millions that Malky has, the main target is a striker from the Premier League.
Dick Bate will start his role as head of the academy in January after he concludes his commitments with the English FA, he is currently in Korea and our staff are looking forward to working with him and it is believed that Bate will take our academy to the next level.
The academy currently has 24 scouts and the club are recruiting new scouts.
The club have started a new initiative called 'Rewards'. The idea of the scheme is to give children that would not normally have the opportunity to attend matches, the chance visit us with a parent or guest.
One of the biggest success stories in football is the award winning Family Stand at Cardiff City Stadium. It is host to over 7,000 season ticket holders, breeding fans for the long term future of this great club.
However, for one reason or another parents sometimes can’t bring their children to games. What the club are asking is for you to do your bit to help through our Cardiff City Community Reward Scheme. All you have to do is let the club know when you are unable to attend a game.
This will allow families who can’t get into this sold out area to purchase these tickets and have a great day out and all the monies raised from the sale will go towards funding a minimum of 50 tickets to go to less fortunate children.
The club will always guarantee 50 tickets for these children, but if more than 50 supporters give their tickets back the club will then increase this as well.
To find out more about this scheme visit http://www.cardiffcityrewards.com
Another initiative the club will ask fans to take part in is one that asks fans to give a Christmas gift to a less fortunate child. Many schools take part in this scheme and the club have teamed up with a company who did this last Christmas and over 1,800 less fortunate children received a Christmas present that they would not normally have as a result.
The club would like fans to bring a wrapped gift for a child before the Peterborough game, it doesn't have to be an expensive gift, just the fact that a child will receive something will be satisfying in itself. The hope is that amongst our support we can raise maybe 1,000 gifts for underprivileged children.
Keep an eye on the official site for more information in the coming days.
You will probably be aware that the Leeds Utd game has been rescheduled to a 12.30pm kick off. Leeds Utd wanted us to have an early kick off and a voucher exchange for this fixture but Wayne Nash said at last weeks travel group meeting that our club would not accept both those conditions but we would go along with one of them. When Leeds visited us earlier this season they had a voucher exchange at Cardiff West services and a 3pm kick off.
So we have had an early kick off but there will no be a voucher exchange but there will definitely be a RV.
As someone who organises away travel I would have preferred to have a 3pm kick off with a voucher exchange, as we will still have to take our coaches to a RV anyway, but what it does is help those who travel by car or independently not to have to go to a meeting point to get a match ticket.
I have read some calls for a boycott of this game but what about those fans who go to every away game and wish to continue that run, it is easy to say to boycott the game but everyone's wishes must be considered.
I would like to remind those who want to go to Blackburn on 'Carlos' Coaches', I will be collecting payment in the Ninian Park pub before the game on Sunday. Coach price is £25 and tickets for the game are adults@£20, seniors@£12 and 15 years old under@£5. There are spaces available for this trip so please contact me if you wish to go.
I will also be collecting the deposits for the Scotland trip, a deposit of £40 secures your place but there are just a few spaces left so only when your deposit is received will you be booked on. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=97125&p=961452

Legally they can argue that it is only two hours early will not really inconvenience fans but will prevent fans drinking excessively pre match . It is stupid really when Wetherspoons is open at nine in most towns but we can't argue we want the game at three so we could have a few pints, neither would we attempt to. It looks like West Yorkshire police are proving a point against Bates and three clubs are caught up in it,us Millwall and Huddersfield all forced into early kick offs.....of course if Sky decide to show the game we could well kick off at 5.30pm . Lol lol lol.....

Was just curious as there is a topic regarding a boycott currently active in this forum.

Fernando Torres has a month to prove to Rafa Benitez that he can once again be the player he was at Liverpool.
And Chelsea have already lined up a Brazilian striker who will be ready to step straight into the side after Christmas if Torres' Stamford Bridge nightmare continues.
