This was my opinion from the WHY SIMON LAPIN??? thread last Wednesday .

Reeks desparation on MM's behalf if you ask me ! someone to come in that is better than we have and will improve the team? this guy has played 7 games in the past to seasons and the Norrwich fans dont seemed to bothered either way and dont particularly have anything to say about him this could well be Malkys first turkey and no seasonal pun intended.

Before anybody tells me it is early days the guy is on down here on a short term loan and he cant even last 90 minutes without f*cking up! , A yard off the pace just shows you how 7 games in the past two seasons does not benifit the team at all so i still stand by my above analysis.

Tad harsh, he had a decent game considering he hasn't played in ages, it was a harsh second yellow and he was sloppy because he's not up the speed of play yet! Give him a couple more games and he'll be good cover for Taylor until January

According to MM a lot of clubs were after a Left sided player and failed.

He filled in today and we won.

I couldn't say if he was useless as didnt see the game.

I wasn't at the game and haven't seen it, but it was two yellows and not a straight red, so that's something at least.

Let's be honest, how many games has he played recently? Not many, so match fitness is an issue for a start.

I thought he had a reasonable game considering the amount of time he has played recently, he linked well up the left hand side and overlapped on a few occasssions. The second booking looked a bit harsh and I thought the weather conditions didnt help. Give him a few games and I think he will be adequate cover for Taylor.

Couldn't agree more! Sounds like he did a decent job today and on another day might not have been shown a second yellow. He will be banned for 1 game and when he is back give the guy a break and get behind him and show your support! The crowd giving him some confidence could be what a player who hasn't played much over the last few years needs 2 do a job for us! Can't believe we are top of the league and still some people find something 2 moan about!

His second yellow is a joke to be fair, only just a free kick.

Matt Connolly had a nightmare debut aginst the wurzels and we lost, hes turned out to be an excellent addition to our squad
Lappin comes in as an emergency loan goes straight in to a team who have been poor away from home and we win, despite playing very little football in the last couple of seasons, as a few hundred people on here have helpfully pointed out!!!!!!!!!
