CAN CITY GO THE SEASON.....

Sun Nov 18, 2012 9:46 am

Unbeaten at home ?

We have won all 9 games at home so far this season, how much longer can we either keeping winning at home or not losing?

Can we stay unbeaten at home all season?

Is CCS now considered a fortress?

I would be very disappointed if our winning run ended against Sheffield Wednesday, not because of DJ, but the fact they are poor.

Carlos, I feel we will win at least 20 games at home this season, I would be fuming if we lost it to Sheff Wed, because they are def a poor side, but mainly to me, because its DJ. :D But we will beat Sheff Wed 3 nil :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I wouldn't be so sure Annis, they looked ok against Forest yesterday and we know that DJ goes on runs of abysmal and fantastic, they are in the abysmal run at the moment, lets hope they don't come out of it at our place.

We are not poor Annis we just can't put our chances away! Our lucks got to change at some point! And it's all set up for DJ's luck to change and i will tell you one thing don't expect a walk over that will be a big mistake! See you at the game! ;) :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

being the superstitious person I am (only down the City) I have to say when Ali started on about our home record yesterday there were loads of groans around me in the Ninian, all telling him to shut the f**k up!

My bloody father-in-law is the same!

you boys might have stronger mental constitutions than me, but PLEASE no more talk about records - logically we are bound to end the record run at some point, and whoever it is against it is going to hurt bad.

Off to a dark room :(

PS anyone see Bothroyd's miss last night on the TV - classy

Sam, Jones gets himself in to good and bad runs, but when his bad runs start, they are awful and seem never ending, I really hope the current one does not end at our place. Look forward to your support coming down and having a good drink, but go home miserable . :ayatollah:

Bothroyd's miss? Looked like it was headed off the line by a defender to me!

We should embrace the run of results and not shy away from it, it is inevitable that will end but as we don't know when that will be, I believe any achievement should be celebrated.

And winning 9 games on the bounce at home is an achievement that we should rightly be proud of.

I have a feeling that DJ is going to comeback to haunt us, or bloody Peterborough will be the first to defeat us

Re: CAN CITY GO THE SEASON.....

We will drop points at home but I see no reason why we shouldn't remain undefeated all season. Every game is like a final this season with the amount of expectation anyway, but with a record to protect those players will give it that bit more.

I watched the game yesterday, and there just wasnt enough going forward.

I think Bellamy coming back with help a lot, but more firepower is needed up front, Helguson was lost yesterday and Mason was quiet. losing Maynard is proving to be pretty big. Malky needs to get cover in or start giving Velikonja a chance to prove himself

That is why I can see us dropping points at home

Re: CAN CITY GO THE SEASON.....

NO.

We wont go unbeaten all season at home, ANYONE is capable of beating us. If we
have an off day, another side plays a blinder, shit happens and probably will!!!

I know how the players will respond, I know how the squad will respond and how the
manager will pick the lads back up..

Its the fans i worry about

The doom and gloom merchants will have a field day :(

We will drop points at home this season, it's inevitable, we still have to play Ipswich. But I see no reason why we can't do it unbeaten with the way we're playing at home :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

There is no way City will be unbeaten at home this season. We have had an incredible start but with a depleted squad, I fear we will start running out of gas soon until some of our injured players come back. There will be a few more home games this season where we will have unlucky injuries and the referee won't give us a thing like yesterday, and it will be inevitable we will get beaten at home eventually. The main thing when we get beaten is how we respond and bounce back. I don't think posts like this are helpful as we are putting unnecessary and unrealistic expectations on the team.

simple answer NO! it would be outstanding if you do and in football anything is possible but a few home games we have been lucky not to lose eg Huddersfield but it would be amazing if we were able do it :ayatollah:

Honestly if it was one of the last few seasons I'd feel worried about the Wednesday match as every match that was supposed to be a normal, easy 3 point match we end up f*cking up. But this season is different, I actually feel confident against all comers at home and believe we will beat Wednesday 3-1. :ayatollah:

Probably not , because there will be at least one game where we don`t play very well and the opposition play above themselves and/or are lucky. But , to be fair , if we win another 9 of the remaining 14 that would still be a fabulous record for the season.

I think we will have one or two in this week as well.

By the way your replacement Keenor statue is still in the Trust office awaiting collection - the last one unsold and no more to be made . Someone else nearly sold it yesterday when they found it stored away for you in the filing cabinet!! You there next home game to collect it?

Either way its fantastic waking up on a home match day and going don in good feeling.

Of course its a fortress.. teams are coming here with a plan to put us on edge but we manage to shut their plans up. :ayatollah:
