I DON'T WANT THEM TO WIN COZ THEY RED

Sat Oct 27, 2012 9:26 pm

I Want them to win coz they are Cardiff city, I'm not gloating, I don't feel like I've had my own way, if it was my way we'd be in Blue with a Bluebird badge, I didn't want the rebrand, I just wanted to carry on trading and at the highest level possible, not in the Welsh league whatever colour.

I can't be the only one that as seen them play in a dozen colours in dozens of different shirts with lot's of different badges, none of it matters to me, it's my team, whatever colour, whatever badge. :ayatollah:

Well put. :ayatollah:

Touch the bluebird or the name Cardiff city and I may have some dark feelings towards the situation

If you tolerate this your children will be next.

Well said.

But the red and blue thing's a bit f*cking boring now.

In my opinion.

So is the lack of atmosphere thing.

So there.

fair play to you Gwyn, I am trying and I am struggling, not enjoying it at all unfortunately.

Gwyn, I hope they win but it's not really Cadiff City as we know it. Each to their own but I wonder what them down the roads traction would be if some foreign meglmaniac decided to strip their soul? Is your arse sore?

After work i like to laze about wearingy city shirts normally when i go to darts or pool matches in week i wear a city shirt, everyone stares and asks wtf is that red why u wearing that! But when i wear my white shirt from last season nothing is said, so it seems ots ok to wear a rival colour but cant wear a fuckin red one

Its not the colour that people are taking offence to, its the fact that it's the HOME strip

Strip their soul would be a step too far, but changing a shirt colour surely wouldn't be that bad, it's happened to quite a few clubs on quite a few occasions. :ayatollah:

I hated today, It was shit, no atmosphere, Cardiff in red at home  Would rather be losing 4-1 to Yeovil at Ninian Park whilst being pissed upon eating an overly burnt pie

Changing the colour for what though? Let's be honest its been done due to one mans whim. History, tradition, integrity ripped out in a minute.

In fairness they've not ripped the soul out, we've let it die with the willingness to roll over for whatever reasons. Them from down the road would never stand for it.

The yeovil days, and before, (70's + 80's) if being honest, you would never want to see them days again.

While I don't agree with the rebrand it has brought in bug investment, like it or not.

The white shirt was our away kit, white was also part of our traditional colours, no problem with that.

Wearing the red shirt suggests that you're in favour of the rebrand.

Can't believe identity doesn't mean anything to some people. I think it's sad that some of our fans don't care.

seriously looking far too much into this

ive got a red shirt
wear it all the time
i wear a red shirt because its our home shirt, i dont buy away shirts i think they are unlucky (silly reason but thats my reason superstition)
im not making any kind of statement, im just supporting my club the same way as i always have

now if you want to see statements in peoples choice of clothing you carry on but i suggest you find out the facts as to why someone bought a home shirt before you tar them all with the same brush

Gwyn Gwyn Gwyn this is all rather cute but the fact of the matter is MOST other fanbases would not have rolled over as easy as we have, this is a fact. But as long as you get to see Rooney and co in the premiership who gives a care if we play in red, pink or indigo....

:old:

Very true - those other fans that held up banners saying "f**k modern football keep cardiff blue" in austria and places like that seem to care more than some of our own fans, it's embrassing. It's not that I wanted Tan to give up and leave - it's that I didn't understand why he wanted red so bad in the first place. Like seriously, why does he care so much about us playing in red? Don't tell me a few extra shirt sales in Asia is the reason, for someone with an £800 million fortune..

This term "one man's whim" seems to be thrown about a lot since the "rebrand"!
There is no evidence to say this is why Tan changed us to red, the same as there is no evidence to say cos it's part of his masterplan to get us to the champions league.

The facts are none of us really know why he wanted us to play in red, not even Alan Whitely having read his interviews on the matter. Whether it will be something that will be beneficial to propel us into future glory, only time will tell. I personally have a belief that it is something to do with attracting investment from China but i have no more reason to believe this than you do for saying he just done it on a whim. :ayatollah:

Funny thing, It was better in the 80's than the 00's, it was better in the 60's than the 80's, it was better in the 40's than the 60's, it was better in the 20's than the 40'

It was always better through older misty eyes

Not having a dig, but will you be going ever again?
Seems like your tipping point has been reached.
If you do go again, surely you are accepting the changes all be it begrudgingly?

Do people want city to lose and not go up because we are red :?: Im starting to wonder even though non of us had any choice in all of this and most hate it but we live on, modern football thats all i put it down to. Yesterday there was faces ive seen chanting for a few years home/away yet it was a few claps yesterday while not even moving out there seat when goals went in, Why :?: :ayatollah:

Exactlly the same for me. I don't like the colour and never will but I want my club to be stable for once and not worry bout beeing in the high courts or going into admin. All I care about now is getting the Langstone debt sorted and the debt to equity changed and if we get to the Prem then all the better.

I miss those Ninian Park days but they are gone and we have to move on. I am not against those who cannot stand the rebranding at all but I'm fed up of those criticising fellow fans whilst they dont do anything about it themselves
