MY ISSUE WITH CRAIG NOONE

Fri Oct 26, 2012 2:02 pm

Don't get me wrong, Noone is a talented player and can make things happen - one decent cross can get us a win, as we saw on Tuesday.

BUT

He seems to do too much on the ball, and sometimes needs to look for a simple pass to the midfield. Many times on Tuesday there were players making a run and he totally ignored them.

If he passed at the right times then we may just have been a lot more comfortable on Tuesday and in other games.

Could be a vital reason as to why he's not started in recent away games.

I've not got one with him hes the only one starting more than any other signing, out of the supposed 12million MM has spent we had noone & connelly playing the other night to the value of 1.6million spent so much for MM and his better players only policy when theres 10million either on the bench or sat in the stands like etien with nothing wrong with him :ayatollah:

Etien needs to bulk up before he's ready.

Agree with your post, obviously at brighton he was left out quite alot as well as we all know, He's a good skillful player, but just because a player has got every trick in the book and pace it doesn't mean they Are neccasarily good for the team.

I've seen amateurs who have as much skill as noone and pace, but never make for either committment issues, or other area's of weakness in their game

Theres plenty of strikers out there who would cost less and playing yet they dont need to bulk up while sitting in the stands but cost us 1million upfront and other addons to take it to 1.5million. :ayatollah:

Quick and skillful BUT no end product.

Crossing is 1 or 2 good ones per game. Shoots into the stand.

With him and MacNaughton it is not good enough.

the amount of times he tried to take an extra man or step on tues and lost it drove me batty!

I don't think we need to be looking for criticisms for our players??!! If he was the perfect player he'd be playing for Barcelona

Another pathetic thread.

As one poster correctly pointed out...

If Craig Noone was THAT good, he'd be at Barcelona or Real Madrid.

What the f**k do our supporters expect of championship players

I swear to God if Lionel Messi played for the City some dickhead would be sat
in the 'sits' looking for faults

I completely agree. I love Noone but he needs to learn to pass.

McNaughton is a defender doesn't really need to have end product.

Very poor Tuesday IMO, to many bad choices and far to greedy at the wrong times.

Not as ugly as Alan Tate, he came second to a pig in a beauty competition. ;)

Re: MY ISSUE WITH CRAIG NOONE

Noone's end product is not an issue for me. We were crying out for someone who could scare defenders, go past a man and has bags of pace and Noone ticks the box on all these things.
We have plenty of players who keep the ball but none of them give us what noone can give us. He frightens the opposition and stretches games and i believe that is what we missed last season. :ayatollah:

Re: MY ISSUE WITH CRAIG NOONE

I wish we could just spend a few weeks concentrating on improving his shooting. If he could shoot he'd get 10 goals a season at least. His crossing isn't too bad but needs work. Like others have said though, if he was the complete player he wouldn't be in the Championship.

Taffy, I like you as a poster fella and 9 times out of 10 I agree with what you say mate but lately you
have been up there with the best for a moan.

FFS mate, its a Football Forum, if you don't agree that's fine but these days as soon as someone says something
you don't agree with your all over it with your 'another pathetic' thread type reply.

Your better than that mate.

For the record I thought the OP post was bang on the money.

My personal opinion is almost the same, I think he is quality and has potential although on Tuesday his crossing was very poor, my other concern with him is that I really didn't like his play acting to get the Watford fella sent off, hope Malky stamps that out of his game.

And that's my opinion mate, not slagging him off, just an observation, not saying i am right and I'm sure others will disagree but that is the beauty of the board

Whatever his faults are and in my book not many, what I like about him is that he is very direct and loves to take people on. :ayatollah:

Actually, your right. I've been far too chopsy lately :(

Noone.. Well my gripe is this. A few weeks ago he was the best thing since sliced bread, since
which time he has come back from injury himself.

If he was fast, skilful, could beat a man AND was a brilliant crosser....he'd be playing in the
Premiership already. He has faults. Thats why he's a £1m player not a £10m player. Remember
for all his good points, Ryan Giggs' crossing was awful for the first 5-6 years at Man Utd.

We SERIOUSLY need to get a grip (my opinion) We are a Championship side with a Championship
budget buying Championship standard players.

When Noone is on song he's pretty much unstoppable, but like most wingers has the odd off day.

Right now we are second with a core of young players that are only going to improve.

If these young players were already perfect, we'd never be able to afford them!!

Apologies to the o/p for my over the top reaction

Why does it make anyone wrong?
I still stand by he was poor against Watford but today he was excellent, no doubt.

Bit hot and cold ATM but a great singing.
