No need to be nasty BB, I have a different opinion. I grew up in Wales during the sixties/seventies, had an excellent education thanks to the teachers rather than the state, hard but fair. Worked on the A470 bypass during the miners strike so know a bit about that era, yes I've used jack hammers on limestone trying to dig out a 450 by 450mm hole 1.2m deep when its freezing cold and pissing down day after day. Do I still do that? No, I got off my f*cking arse, threw off the shackles of left wing bollox and went out into the big wide world, well, Hereford. Trained up as a Technician with Welsh Water, did an ONC part time, resigned and went to Polytechnic got myself a degree in Civil Engineering. Came back to Wales, saw f**k all had changed so moved to london in around 1986, had several jobs. I now advise governments on Infrastructure Investment throughout the former Socialist countries but have never forgotten my roots. A wankstain I may be but at least I have my own mind.

After she closed the pits and the dock yards, guess who bought the historic Chatham dockyard on the cheap? None other than her husband Dennis. If it wasn't for the locals realising what he was up to he would've flattened all the listed and historically important buildings in the dock without planning permission. The locals fought for the buildings and some remain today.

Nope, why would I try to impress you? Simple things, workers work did in the olden days, well seventies/eighties, a few men from Merthyr who were men and wanted to work, 50 quid a cash in hand. The valley miners? Where were they? The odd one or two who wanted to work were the lowest level of the left wing union lot, the outcast as they had their own minds. And then what happened? From nowhere a dozen or so thugs turn up and frighten the working men off.
