I'm going to dedicate the Ipswich win to my dad

Sun Oct 07, 2012 5:14 am

I lost my dad yesterday evening after a 2 month battle with cancer

He has followed the bluebirds all his life and has told me several tales about watching Cardiff games both home and away in the 1950's.

Keeping him updated of our games since he has been ill has been something he enjoyed - especially telling him last week were were top!

I've just worked out that he passed away at about the same time we scored our winner yesterday- fate or coincidence? I don't bloody know

I just wish I had taken him to see a game at the new stadium in recent years, it was one of those things I was going to do "next time", and never actually did it.

Therefore, i'm going to dedicate the ipswich win to my dad and will cheer on his behalf a little bit louder at the Watford game on 23rd

RIP Hugh Prosser Williams (1935-2012)

Very sad news Jeff, my heart goes out to you and your family.

I for one don't believe in coincidences so he passed away a very happy man.

Sincere condolences mate. My dad never got to see us at Wembley or the CCS after a lifetime of supporting the Bluebirds. Lets hope all our lost loved ones are enjoying the season as much as we are.
