MACCABI TEL AVIV AGREED TERMS WITH CARDIFF CITY STRIKER ROBERT EARNSHAW WHO SUCCESSFULLY UNDERWENT A MEDICAL AND IS SET TO SIGN A 1 YEAR DEAL.
With Sports Director Jordi Cruyff eager to add to Oscar Garcia's frontline options ahead of the upcoming campaign, he has pounced on to bring the 31-year-old Welsh international to Tel Aviv.
Cruyff, told the clubs' official website: "I am delighted with this latest addition. The last day of the transfer window always gives pleasant surprises and this is one of them. His goal-scoring record speaks in itself".
During the striker's career which began as a Cardiff trainee, Earnshaw enjoyed three spells at his boyhood club, scored 202 goals in 453 League and Cup appearances playing for Nottingham Forrest, Derby County, Norwich City and West Bromwich Albion.
Earnshaw, who hasn't featured for Cardiff City this season, scored four goals in 22 League and Cup appearances last year before being denied promotion to the Premiership in the Playoffs by West Ham.
Having made his senior international debut for Wales in 2002, Earnshaw represented his country on 58 occasions scoring 16 goals for The Dragons. He made his last appearance against Bosnia in August and was an unused substitute in Wales' two Group A qualifiers against Belgium (0-2) and Serbia (1-6).

It didn't say on the Tel Aviv site that it's a loan deal. It says it on CCFC's site, though.

True. 21 games without a goal, was it? Christ, Malky really didn't like Earnie, if he still didn't play him when Miller was on that kind of bad form.
Good luck, Little Earn!

Not knowing much about the club Earnie has joined just had a look at wikipedia and their fan sites etc, They seem to be a club with a real pedigree within Israel football >
Maccabi Tel Aviv Football Club (Hebrew: מועדון כדורגל מכבי תל אביב; Moadon Kaduregel Maccabi Tel Aviv) is an Israeli football club and part of the Maccabi Tel Aviv sports club. It is one of the oldest clubs in Israeli football, and is the most successful club in Israeli football history with 18 championships, 22 national cups, 2 Asian Champions Cups and 3 Toto cups. Maccabi have won the championship and the cup in the same season (referred to as winning the "double") six times, and are the only club in Israel never to have played outside the top division.

Also, quite a good manager in Jordi Cruyff - probably one of the reasons Earnie decided to go there. I notice he fills up the maximum allowed 5 foreign players as well.
I like the fact that the club has formed a "brotherhood" with Ajax. Bit like having a "twin town". It goes without saying I suppose that through Earnie going to the club, we already have a friendship with them, but I wonder if it would ever be possible for Cardiff to form a similar alliance, and who it would be with? Portsmouth possibly after the cup final?

Hi, I'm a Maccabi fan. just want to let you know we're all really excited about the arrival of Earnie, he seems like a great guy. He got a few minutes as a sub yesterday at a 4-0 win against the last year champions, and looked quite quick and agile (no goals yet, though). If you wish to keep up with Earnie's form at Maccabi, I'll be happy to give you updates.

just a quick update, we got to enjoy Earnie's great somersault today after he scored his first goal for Maccabi this season. He scored the winner goal at the 2-1 win against league leaders, Ashdod (a nice finish after an elegant spin). If you're interested, youtube video should be available soon.
