At least give Malky

Sun Aug 26, 2012 9:30 am

At least give Malky 10 or 12 games before you decide about his fate, your like a lynch mob on here. He has just put a strong squad together, who chose the players ? Malky, now let's support him rather than hang him. Vt and Tg chose him as our manager and if the results don't go our way I am sure after what they have already done to my belved club, they will hang him dry and get you all a new manager.
Remember what Tan wants,he gets, so I have been told.

Yes give him 10games i get that but f**k me annis your the biggest lynch mob of them all when it comes to moaning on here some of us have had enough of shit showings i mean come on we could have ZERO points on the board after three games and not one fan could moan we deserved more tbh, yet we got four points out of nine somehow. The footballs dire annis lets face it nothing is going to change fast its like groundhog day watching us these days. Yesterday only showed you why marshall has been getting MOM in the last two games before this one only he had no chance yesterday with saves galore again. We have the players now MM craved for in the media for eight months last season on a weekly basis so why are we playing the same park football as we was from jan onwards. It makes no sence :ayatollah:

I think 10-12 games is too long, if it keeps going as it is now (which i dont think it will) he will need to go by the end of september, so someone can come in and make there mark, otherwise we will have no chance of promotion this season.

Ask yourselfs this when was the last time you walked away from the CCS or away ground in a league game thinking wow we played the other team off the park today with good flowing attacking football and totally dominated, what a game that was we won 3-0 but could have been 7or8 nil :?: :?: :?: :?: I can not think of any. We need someone who plays a bit more attacking style. I am sick to death of Cardiff being a laughing stock. We need to go up this season or the malaysians are going to leave us in a right mess FACT :(

i think Its the way we lost yesterday was a shock for the fans, Huddersfield was a poor game, draw at brighton & with the second half of last seasons form, i can understand the fans being pissed off.. MM is very stubborn & with him not willing to change tactics is a worry

Look at Reading last season, they came from nowhere.

It be too late by then , this isn't new and was all too clear to see last Christmas . The man won't change and you can bet he'll turn up next Sunday with his trademark boring style of football and 1 up front.

Its just not good enough and to be totally outplayed by a nothing team like Bristol City was just the icing on the Cake . Playing in Red is the least of our worries ... having a stubborn inept manger with no plan B , no passing game, no pace, no clue is a far bigger issue.

Nobody is happy at the moment, but we did get into the play-off's last season with pretty much the same tactic's (so plenty of people are saying) we have definitely a stronger squad than last season, and we only at game 3 of 46 ? And not 100% certain but were reading near the bottom at christmas last season, so let's give it a bit of time before we start slitting our wrist's ;)

Re: At least give Malky

but we did get into the play-off's last season with pretty much the same tactic's

And got killed and even then for the Return leg Malky didn't change, we need to go 4 goals down before he'll push men forward and even think of playing 2 up front

All the teams have worked us out

Annis I agree we will know what kind of season we can expect by the time we have played 12 games but we simply cannot escape the fact that last season we scored 1 or no goals in 60% of our games. After 3 games it's looking like we will do no better this season and this despite millions being spent on the squad.

MM is responsible for the way we set up to play and I would point to the way he uses Whittingham as the biggest area of concern. Twice in the last 4 seasons Whitts has scored 20+ goals but the way he is being used he will be lucky to get half of that. Anyone believe Holloway would use Whitts the way MM is :?

We may only be 3 games in but for me the honeymoon is over for MM and I'm not normally a negative glass half empty sort of guy.

Someone needs to show MM the season DVD where Whitts scored 20+ goals and then ask him just what the f**k are you doing with this guy.

I can't believe what I'm reading  Malky took us to the play-offs and a cup final last year with a quickly assembled small squad! He is a very good manager, he is however, still young and inexperienced who still has much to learn, we all knew that when he came in. If his team lost all of the first 10-12 games then yes he should go as would any manager, even Sir Alex would find it hard to keep his job. However, if we are mid table or above then it means that we have had an ok, if not great start, which if we are honest with ourselves is probably where we should be on merit consdering the quality in the other teams in this division. When you have teams like Huddersfield, with players like Jordan Rhodes, who is miles better than anything we have or Blackpool with Matt Phillips and Thomas Ince who are wanted by Premiership teams, then you have to take a reality check.

Malky was given a project when he came in, he is a year into that, he should be given at least another season to find his formula and system. If at the end of the season the brand of football has not developed or our league position has not improved from last year, then serious questions will need to be asked.

We weren't outplayed by anybody but ourselves!

We were playing the better football and didn't seem in any danger until Marshall had a brainstorm and rolled the ball out to Gunnarsson in a congested area, immediately putting him under pressure and he passed the ball woefully to a Bristol City player!

The second goal on the stroke of half time was a bit of a killer, but we came out in the second half and scored 2 goals!

Not quite sure what happened for their 3rd goal, but Connolly who'd had a very good first half IMO, hit a pass straight to one of their players, who immediately hit a through ball for their 4th goal and it was game over! As I was up the far end of the ground from the goal, it was hard to see whether Marshall could have done better for this particular goal, as it looked like he stayed on his line and didn't come out to narrow the angle!

Now I've seen a lot of posters slag off Connolly for his performance yesterday and especially the pass leading to their 4th goal which effectively killed off the game, but Hudson was poor in defence yesterday as well, giving more passes away than Connolly, but as they didn't lead to goals, I haven't seen anybody mention him!

As I said before, we were the better team before they scored their first goal, but there were too many players who never stepped up to the plate afterwards! Whitts was off his game, playing a shocking ball in to their first defender from a freekick, which was in a decent and dangerous area and he pulled out of a tackle in the second half as well!

All this Malky hasn't got a Plan B is bullshit, he put a lot of quality players out onto the pitch yesterday and they let him and the club down!

We didn't get the performance we'd have all liked against Huddersfield, as they set up very defensively, which a lot of teams are going to do to us at home this season, but we managed to scrape a win, by going for the whole 90 minutes plus!

We picked up a very good point at Brighton in midweek, keeping a clean sheet against a team who had beaten the European Champions 3-1 seventeen days earlier and who put 5 past Barnsley yesterday!

Yesterday's performance was a one off I believe and you have to take into account, that we had 2 new players out on the field, one of them (Connolly) in a pivotal and crucial position and his partnership with Hudson, didn't reach the heights it possibly should have done, especially after we conceded the first howler!

On a brighter note, I thought Tommy Smith had a superb game for us and whilst it may be too early to compare them, I believe he offers us a bit more than Liam Lawrence did!

Re: At least give Malky

simple thing is,

we move far too slow with the ball. there is a sever lack of pace, not once have i seen somebody skip past a player creating space.. we dont spread teams all over the pitch. we always try to go through the middle and we dont attack the space.

we are far too static, we make it far to easy for the opposition to mark. we dont play to our strengths and we bypass key players illiminating them from the game...

i watched match of the day last night and loads of teams played with 1 striker, but it didnt look like 1 as there was great support on the flanks and from behind attacking in numbers, support and with pace.

I would say wait until Christmas to see if he's done enough. Like it's been said, new teams take time to gel. Reading were doing f**k all until November last season. We started like a f*cking rocket and looked what happened to us. August, September and October don't win or lose you a season.
