I heard that they stuck another 5,000 seats in there over the summer. Capacity up from 22k to 27k.
Average of around 20k last year and then over 25k tonight.
Went last year but not tonight anyone know if they expanded the stadium (already!!) or stuck them in somewhere within the same footprint? Interested to know where they stuck them.
Looks like they may get a higher average than is this year, that would be a concern. We cannot stand still.

Bit of waste after 1 season in the new ground but I'm sure they wanted 27,000 before it was made and they said they'd see what they pull in in their first season.

Found these on twitter. Nicest ground in the Championship now, plus they have another 500 seats going in before Christmas (as you can see in the top right corner of the top photo) and they'll be filling in the other 2 corners at the end of this season making it 30,000 by this time next year

Bit like our ground but they have an atmosphere in theres

Now that's a proper modern day football ground.

Really looking forward to going there this season but our coach didn't get enough numbers.
Doing Huddersfield instead to replace Brighton

The big three tiered stand opposite the two tiered one looks really nice as well

It's a lovely stadium but they spent nearly double what ours cost.
Tue Aug 21, 2012 10:32 pm
Cheers lads.
I see they are using already created space. They will never be able to raise the roof as it has to near enough hide in the countryside.
Good to see they built it and fans turned up. Hope the same happens if we expand.
Tue Aug 21, 2012 10:33 pm
They have only extended two corners
Tue Aug 21, 2012 11:15 pm
Thanks for the nice words re our stadium.
Two corners now filled in. A second tier put onto the East Stand.
500 extra corporate seats in by Xmas, and the last two corners filled by start of next season.
10th highest number of season tickets holders in the four english divisions.
All we need now is a goalscorer!!

Have to pay £20 to be on the WAITING LIST for next season's season tickets
Wed Aug 22, 2012 2:47 pm
Looks poncey imo. Like the teletubbies built it.
Wed Aug 22, 2012 3:04 pm
22k season tickets is impressive.
Our new stadium smell seems to have worn off with only the plastic chasing fans to come on board should we get promoted.
Are all the Family stand tickets sold out? If so that is the only area that would benefit from expansion. The Canton Stand and bottom corners of the Grandstand seem to be forever empty.

Yeah, lots of time wasters were on this years waiting list. So this concentrates the minds! Currently at just under another 1,000 on the list and growing.
On the corporate side, the extra 500 expansion has a waiting list of circa 800. £1,000 for your seat licence and just over a £1,000 per year for all first team matches (Minimum 5yr contract)

Twats were charging £3.50 for a programme last night and wanted £3.90 for a steak & kidney pie!
I bought a programme, but refused to buy the pie telling them that I didn't mind contributing to their stadium building costs, but I didn't want to pay for it myself!

I think SH original designs for the new CCS were along similar lines to the Amex,,, originaly two tires around the whole stadium. They were cut back in order of cost. Don't forget the cost for the CCS was for the build only, the fit out was another matter!
Wed Aug 22, 2012 7:44 pm
It's impressive, both the ground and the number of st holders. They were effed about without a ground for far to long, I'm glad they came through and seem to be doing well.
