I'd make a very cheeky offer for Cameron Jerome, he's not the most prolific of strikers but he's quick, strong and always a handful. Not sure whether Stoke would be willing to let him go, maybe a loan deal would suit both parties as his move there hasn't exactly go well.

I know im taking the piss you know what people are like on here if you mention such things, most people know we do not have the fire power/squad yet for a promotion push but yea we need somebody who can bang them in along with 1-2 more players, then we got a good chance i would say.

I've betted (and watched) quite a bit of European football over the last couple of years and even though Maribor have been a VERY consistent team that loses quite few games, the standard of league the play in is poor, and slow.

This is hell of a change for him, and will need a season just to get a feel of things.

We missed a top striker last season which did eventually cost us.Miller was isolated alone up front but MM seems keen to play a 4-5-1 with more emphasis on the midfield.

Look at the teams who have been promoted over recent seasons and they have had decent strikers:
West Ham, Southampton and Reading last season all had decent strikers which pushed them onto promotion. In fact West Ham did what Blackburn have done this year and went top heavy on strikers. If you don't score goals you don't win matches !

Last season we did not manage to kill teams off because of the lack of fire power up front only for us to lose the lead on so many occasions and throw away a huge number of points. We do need a proven striker who can bag 20 goals at this level. Maynard/Le Fondre etc were all available within the last 12 months but MM did not make a move for them. Lets hope that we do bring in another striker with a track record. It would be nice to see someone like Simon Cox at the club but Blackburn seem to be signing up all the available strikers ! Saying that we do not know how how are 2 new strikers will perform.

Of course that is fair enough, I just hope his style is not wasted my sticking him up front on his own in the headless chicken Kenny Miller role when we lump balls up with no hope, with Helguson I'm feeling really positive whoever we play alongside him tbh he can be so useful like when he lead QPR's promotion winning attack he played as the main target man with the pace of Taarabt, Routledge etc coming off him.
