Latest news from the CCS

Thu Jul 26, 2012 8:33 pm

Hopefully give us something else to talk about .First of all, some bad news. Rudy Gestede is once again on the treatment table and it looks like he'll be out for at least 3 weeks to a month - continuing the unfortunate catalogue of injuries for the young Frenchman

The"Mystery striker"that has earned seemingly cult status online recently and who CCFC are interested in is Nicky Maynard. His name has been out there for a while but now the wheels are in motion I'll pass on what I was told. Also we're in talks with a premier league club over a loan deal for a defender. The Kim-Bo Kyung deal is still very much on but the constant delay in the overseas paperwork is frustrating for all. The same goes for CB39 which is still ongoing. The majority of our support need some positive news ASAP and i'm sure it's just around the corner, but a couple of obstacles to hurdle yet( Shocking Olympic sized analogy :-D

We shouldn't even be paying for the treatment bill for Gestede as he should have been kicked out for being shit a long time ago!!!

C. G. I thought Annis said it,s a striker who will score lots of goals, no way man, not even worth 1 mill, under achiever and over rated, the only way he will be a top striker, is if he vastly improves under Malky.

Personally with the new look midfield, Nicky Maynard would be more than capable of tearing the championship a new arsehole

IMHO

Thanks for the info CityGent, Maynard would be a decent signing but not sure I would class as a Marquee signing though.

Just goes to show big fat Sam bought all the strikers in Jan so no one else could have them.I'd love to see Maynard down here though the lad is probably gutted to be moved on so soon.Maybe Fat Sam wants to swap him for Turner.

Maynard's a good player. I think I'd still like another decent striker with him but he'll do

I'm not sure where the"marquee signing"comment originated from - it wasn't me

I knew the name and said it was a mystery target. I think it's grown and grown from there!

That's he'll of a scoring record! However. There's no way he's only .5" short of 6ft!

maynard is a decent striker at this level... cant believe the criticism.. i know hes not a marque signing but def has a quality goal scorer... scored a lot of goals in a shit bristol city side... with quality players around him he will def get goals...

add bellamy, kim bo and another def and we have a cracking squad to chose from...

with regards to gestade, i would look to loan another striker in, def someone who is a target man and would loan rudy out to a league 1 team until jan...

The defender we're moving in for is very highly rated. Young and quite a lot of top flight football behind him

Savic?

I would be very happy with Maynard. 45 goals in 124 appearances in the Championship for a not very good Bristol City side is pretty decent. We would still need a proper centre forward, though, especially as it looks as if Rudi - regardless of whether he is good enough- is never going to be fit.

Re: Latest news from the CCS

Would be very happy with Maynard, some people say we went in for him in January but West Ham overpowered us for him, so literally the news is Gestede injured, Kim deal still a long way to go yet regarding international clearance/paper work, Bellamy not close to being done? Happy that we're going for a Prem defender on loan too, could be a good season for us on the pitch wise! :ayatollah:

Any chance he's a left back?
