Now if certain people want to laugh, because we change a badge and a shirt colour whilst possibly having the investment we have prayed for a life time to get us to the top, then let them laugh.
The crap I have watched in the crappiest stadiums you could dream of for to long to admit hardens me to any piss taking or laughing our so called fans or other clubs fans want to chuck at us, let's see who's laughing in five years time.

The difference is when people laughed at us because we were crap, it didn't bother me. I wasn't embarrassed as I was proud to support my local team. But now people are laughing at us because we have sacrificed everything in the hope for a bit of success, this does bother me because to be honest, I am completely embarrassed with what's happening to my club.

Posted a similar msg y'day about losing 5-0 at home to maidstone on new years day in the early nineties, and got shot down coz we had a shocking end to last season.
If 'being a decent striker away from scoring in the last minute to beat liverpool in a wembley cup final' is a disaster then i'll take disaster seasons every day of the week.
i'm against the colour change (even more against that travesty of a badge) - but we'll be back in blue and with a tidy badge again before the end of the decade - and who knows - it might be in the premier league as well.
so, i'll keep turning up - like in the eighties, nineties and noughties - to support my team - because that's what i want to do.

Yes we have sacrificed everything, all that remains is our name. We have changed our badge numerous times but the Bluebird was always the main symbol! I know we didn't have the Bluebird on the badge for our cup final, but back then we only had a badge on our shirt when we got to a cup final, we never played with a badge on our shirt otherwise until the 60's. When we regularly wore a badge from the 60's onwards, the badge was ALWAYS the Bluebird as the main symbol! Now our Bluebird is an afterthought and we are already being referred to as the Cardiff Red Dragons. The Cardiff Red Dragons are NOT the club I have supported and fallen in love with. Us playing in red as the Cardiff Red Dragons is embarrassing to me, we are a laughing stock!
I would at least understand if all the changes benefitted us, but at the moment it seems the changes are making no difference whatsoever! We are still in massive debt, VT can give Langston 10 million right now if he really wanted to, but I really don't think he will! He's only put 6 million of his own money into our club with the rest being taken out as loans (with the 7% interest of course), not the over 40 million of his own money like others have stated! If VT converts the debt into equity, I will at least know he's committed. But right now, it seems he's just having fun with us, he's changed us to red because he wants to, he's changed our badge because he wants to, it doesn't seem he's done any of this to benefit us, it's just because he wants to!
Our games getting beamed back to Malaysia to generate further interest is a good idea, but this could have still been done with us playing in blue as the Bluebirds couldn't it! We have Malaysia as the sponsor on our shirt for crying out loud! If that can't generate sufficient interest when beaming the games back to Malaysia, then nothing will! The rebranding is totally unnecessary, yet fans are gullable enough to believe us changing our badge and colour will turn our fortunes around? Don't make me laugh, the only thing this has done is made us a laughing stock and to be honest, if we have to go through all this just to have a bit of success, then I don't want success! It definitely won't feel the same to me if we get promoted this season as the Cardiff Red Dragons, it will still be Cardiff City, but not MY Cardiff City who I have fallen in love with and supported for 23 years.
I feel so let down by some of my fellow fans willingly rolling over and accepting the rebranding. I am confident Langston WON'T be paid off by the end of the month, so VT WON'T be turning the debt into equity. I will love to be proved wrong, but I really can't see it, I do not trust VT, messing with our clubs identity is something he wouldn't do if he REALLY cared about our club and fans. Also, if us playing in red really meant that much regarding us being more marketable, VT would NEVER have got involved with us in the first place because we play in blue, he would have got involved with a club who already play in red like Notts Forest for example. Like I said I would love to be proved wrong, but I really can't see it! Obviously we will just have to wait and see.

Obviously we will just have to wait and see.
great post tonteg..i feel the same they have ripped our club apart..

Gwyn,
I think you are spot on.
You and I are simillar vintage and have often travelled the same road.
The world has changed, the football world has changed. We can't go back.Whilst it was the 'best of times and the worst of times' I don't really want to go back.
Embrace change positively and it will feel much better. We can still keep the best of what we were about.
It will also help Malky and the players on the pitch.
After all that's where it matters and up to a point everything else is bollocks.
thought I was a right cool f****r Mon Jul 09, 2012 6:15 pm

The difference is when people laughed at us because we were crap, it didn't bother me. I wasn't embarrassed as I was proud to support my local team. But now people are laughing at us because we have sacrificed everything in the hope for a bit of success, this does bother me because to be honest, I am completely embarrassed with what's happening to my club.
We have sacrificed everything, for f**k sake are you serious, how have we sacrificed everything, we have changed a badge, AGAIN, and the colour of a shirt, please keep it in context.Did they laugh when we left Ninian Park, do you laugh at Leeds coz they changed their shirt.
Yes we have sacrificed everything, all that remains is our name. We have changed our badge numerous times but the Bluebird was always the main symbol!
