WHAT IF THE JACKS DID IT

Sat Jun 30, 2012 6:15 pm

If the Jacks had done this rebrand thing as we are calling it, how would you really feel. Personally I would be gutted they had an investor behind them that could take them and make them into a long term top Premiership team.

I would be jealous as f**k, more jealous than them achieving promotion to the Premiership in the first place, if they had a colour or badge change it wouldn't mean a thing to me, but a billionaire backer would cut right through me.

Whilst some will have you believe other clubs fans are laughing at us, I bet there are a lot more watching us with a lot of envy and praying for a similar investor to help their clubs. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

That's exactly what I've been thinking :ayatollah:

If I am being genuinely honest with myself I'd love it.

I'd look upon them in pity and find it funny that they're now an embarrasing plastic laughing stock.

I guess that's why I find it so hard to accept what's being done to the club I love.

I didn't fall in love with Cardiff City in the Premier league or when we had a rich owner or nice stadium, for that reason, none of that stuff really matters to me.

Exactly, and none of us fell in love with them because they had a blue shirt or a badge we like, to most of us it's about far more than that, and my club is for life no matter what. Been with them to the bottom and staying with them to the top. would you stop loving your wife if she dyed her hair without telling you.

When I think about the re-branding I get annoyed. Nothing I have read so far has made me feel any different. But I've got to say Gwyn, this response you have just posted, has made me give things a second thought.

I'm never going to be in favour of the rebranding, but the point you've just made makes a lot of sense...

Cheers mate.

Where did i say that, i said i'd be jealous if it was the other way around, to be honest fella I don't give a f**k how you feel, it's how i and my fellow City fans feel that concerns me.
In all honesty, in my eyes if you were top of the Premiership and we were bottom of the second, I would still see us as the bigger better the capital of Wales team.

What was it your old Chairman said, " If I had taken Cardiff City to the top division, we'd still be there now" Your fans let them down first time with your pitiful crowds and support, how long do you think they will stay this time. :?:

You miss the point.
There's only so much flyboy Jenkins and luck can do to keep you where you are.
Mr Tan's investment can in the medium term take CCFC beyond any lower level Premier league club who are just holding on every year. This is what is so exciting. When we get to the PL we could actually do something and compete rather than just keep our 10 fingers crossed that we scrape across the line every season. And we could do it in an expanded stadium that we would fill.

I think there are/will be a lot of jealous clubs out there.Whatever is said we will know that.

i've given a couple of my cardiff mates a fair bit of stick over this, but i feel nothing but pity for all your true fans, if your happy with your prospects and embrace the changes . . then fine, but if this was happening to my club i'd be very worried about what the future would hold, and as regards the colour and crest change i'd be gutted and furious, i really cant get my head around the apathy some of you guys seem to have, and rivals maybe. . . but for you in the blue corner i am genuinly gutted for you, gwyn, i think your deluding youself if you really believe other fans are jealous, anyway, good luck with it all . . . scum c**ts

What "investment" you cant even afford a crocked 32 year old. Give it a break mate and spot whats actually happening at that club of yours. This investment has more strings attached than any "investment" I have ever seen before.

However it is you lot that miss the point. We have had a £46m "investment" this year, the same next, and if we stay up another 60 odd the year after, that's not mentioning parachute payments. All of which will dwarf the "investment" of Tan.
Whats more we haven't dropped our pants and bent over to get it.

The relevance of football in the early 80s when violence, fences, bent coppers, terraces, etc to now is questionable. We have a family stand sold out for years. And to be honest if you believe a side bottom of league 2 could be bigger than a side top of the PL then you really do need help. This capital lark tickles me have a look around europe and ask Barca, United, Milan, Celtic if it matters. You lot have had ideas of grandeur for years and yet bottle it, we know we are punching above our weight and are having a great time. Local club run by local people for local people. Proud to be a swan.

I remember Bristol City coming up to the Championship a few years back and having the backing of a millionaire (that Landsdown bloke)

But for a lucky strike by Hull City they would have made it to the Premiership before the Jacks had even got out of League One.

Although we had made it to the FA Cup Final in the same season it was at a time when we were living from hand to mouth and had only just survived the summary judgement. I can remember being jealous as f**k of BCFC because they had a wealthy benefactor and it seemed all systems go for them, until the money ran out and their new stadium got shot down.

VT is in a different league to Landsdown and I bet both our nearest rivals are secertly shitting themselves at just how big we can become. In 5 years time we will be a regional superpower in football terms and within 10 a national one.

"superpower"

They've gone back to the days of sam hamann telling them they'll be bigger than Barcalona.Thought the thick cunts might have learned their lessons.Obviously not.I'd go as far to say they have the thickest and most deluded fans in world football. They're unbelievable.

Why are we deluded . we have our own academy set up . do you ????? we own our ground do you ????? enjoy your time in the Premiership . .

Gwyn, I take no pleasure in your plight, and I'm certainly not envious. I'll say one thing, your a bloody good spin doctor.

The fact is I feel genuine sympathy for you lot, for the high handed way you supporters are being treated. Rivalry is one thing, but the way the "owners" are treating those who have supported the club for most of their lifetime is contemptible. I don't know if our lot would be any different if we were faced with the same set of circumstances, but if you don't fight for the future of the club you love, you could end up loosing it.

Sam made some mistakes, but he did shake you lot up, and the vibrations reached the Vetch field, where it was a wake up call to us. Without Sam, I think we would both still be in div two, with the odd promotion to div one, and back down again after one or two seasons. I don't have any answers, apart from telling you to keep on fighting for what you want your club to be. Whatever VT wants to do, you'll always be the Bluebirds to most of south Wales.

Ive spoken to plenty of fans from other teams on forums etc and none are laughing at us.
