I think we must ride this storm....Abramovich doesn't consult Chelski fans, we are just a rich man's toy.

I would prefer to get rid of Sam, but any debt owed by the club to VT is only paper debt, he owes his self the money,Abramovich has loaned the money to Chelsea.

You dont get behind them by pulling pints on sat 3pm in your pub wez, so how can you tell me to, going about behind my posts the last 24hours saying i should do this and that with name calling and i shouldnt think what im thinking, when in truth your not even a paying supporter yourself last season so why would i listen to the guy who screens the odd home game from his pub and never goes to games himself. How ironic and shows how the internet seems to bring out the plastics in force

Reading this account of the meeting, it seems that many City fans need to mature in their approach to way essentially is a business matter. An investment proposal is NOT blackmail. It's not as if they were insisting on a repayment of their current loan unless the rebranding took place - now that coould have been perceived as blackmail. BUT NO - they were saying that they are willing to INVEST MORE based on their proposals.

Why should VT have a business plan disclosed at a meeting such as this? Why should we/you doubt that he has one? He's a business man, and a very successful one. People like him DO NOT cut corners. Also he is not answerable to the fans - even though some may think so.

The club were obviously saying that any ticket price increase would not be viable. Therefore, as local funding is not available in any form, then they have no choice that to look to other markets. The Asian market is the obvious one, given that it's local to our investors and they are well placed to know the demands and trends of that market. Now if they had decided to promote us throughout Europe, America or Africa then we would have cause to worry.

Let's not get groound down in the emotion of this. VT is, hopefully, in this for the long haul and has a vested interest in us becoming a Premier League team. Otherwise he has little or no change of recouping his VAST investment.

BECAUSE VT SAYS SO !! That is the only answer they gave for everything. What a waste of time everyone going. Pathetic answers by the club.

Why should they have to accept it? If people dont think the change is right, then why shouldn't they voice their opinion.

Similarly if people are happy to accept the change as they think it safeguards the clubs future then that's fair enough as well. Everybody should be entitled to their own opinion about the situation.

What I would say is that I bet nobody would be happy for the changes that have been implemented if there was no carrot being dangled in terms of possible investment.

Apart from the ridiculous "blackmail" comment, which undermines the entire article, the selective use of quotes and loaded adjectives confirms the bias of the report.

I also choose one paragraph at random...(I may or may not agree with some of the sentiments, but that is irrelevant) ..and have highlighted several words.

He confirmed that Langston had not yet responded to this offer, and the debt was not paid off or any closer to being paid off. It was at this stage that Alan Whiteley confirmed that Sam Hammam would be welcome to take up a life presidency of the club if he wanted such a title, and would be welcome to attend any games he liked. A number of people voiced objections to this, especially as the club had spent the first 20 minutes of the meeting stating how the majority of the debt was Sam Hammams fault. Many people felt that the idea of giving Hammam such a title was a further insult to the fans, and would be even worse than changing the shirt colour to many fans. Despite heavy opposition to the return of Hammam, it seems very likely that the settling of the debt would involve Hammam returning to the club in at least some form, even if the position held no real power. A fan said that the very idea of Hammam being allowed through the gates of Cardiff City Stadium was an insult, with many of those in attendance applauding this statement.

All I ask is, precisely how many people were at this meeting?

No sadly I havent renewed will still follow the results on the radio etc and post but I will not attend a home game whilst we are in Red fingers crossed we may revert back in the next season or two, if we dont I will take stock and decide if im walking forever or return. Hasnt been an easy decision to make but Its feels the right thing for me personally.

Re: Report from the meeting tonight.

I fully understand the objections and can't pretend to understand why. But, we are talking about the ego/vanity of a very rich man, as long as the majority of the fans are with him he won't give up on the project, after all its still small change to him.

I can see intent, the manager we got, the names we are going for, the streaming back to Malaysia.

I think Cardiff City is a stepping (learning) stone to bigger things namely an Asia super league, not as Cardiff City, but with the Kuala Lumpar Dragons twinned with Cardiff City FC (the bluebirds). VT will have an advantage to most of the other owners as he has got European (premier league) experience and will have a good understanding of what worked and what didn't. This is the only strategy that makes sense to me.

Same here Cefn, in all honestly its the social aspect of attending games with your mates which attracts me these days so I will ensure that I'll be going to the pub before and after a game just to catch up with them but I won't be attending any games until they go back to blue. This colour change has almost killed off my whole interest in football, had it not have been for the fantastic Euro2012 then god knows where my mind would have been on the sport. :(

I reject the idea from some people that my report is biased, I've just reported what happened. Annis was there and I'm sure a couple of others from this board were too that can back me up on that. :ayatollah:
