I would have thought with all the furore over the proposed rebranding someone would have shown an interest in why the club colours have been Blue & White.![]()

Gary, All I know and care about is that when I started following City they were the Bluebirds and they played in Blue and thats all I know and love.
Does every Liverpool/Rochdale fan know why they play in their colours ?

Since the club became known as Cardiff City F.C. in 1908 their Home Colours have consisted of a blue shirt and white or blue shorts and socks. However for the first nine years black socks were used. In 1919 Cardiff reverted to blue socks with a white hoop. In 1926 Cardiff used a turquoise blue with a white collar, until 1930 when the darker blue was re-introduced. In 1936 the club adopted white sleeves proven popular by Arsenal F.C.. For the next 20 years the club rarely changed their kit, just swapping between white and blue sleeves.

Because Tan wants them to, Tan is superstitious and Tan wants to get Chinese businessmen involved who only like Red. Well were Cardiff City and Blue, Wrexham are Red and the Dragoons, Sadly VT chose wrong club. But I will still be supporting Cardiff City next season.

Because of Lord Ninian
Absolutely right back then the new ground, in fact the first ground owned by the club, was only completed because Lord Ninian Crichton-Stuart stood guarantor for all costs associated with building the stadium. Lord Ninian Crichton-Stuart was the 2nd son of the then 3rd Marquis of Bute and the club decided in appreciation of the enormous financial support he gave the club during the building of the stadium to name it after him.
That was the way the club decided to show it's gratitude and for me it was a great way of doing it.
Now back to the question of why the club changed colours.![]()

If we happened to change to salmon pink with Gooseberry trim and called ourselves the Numptyfucks then we would celebrate that too.
The reasons are irrelevant, it is our HISTORY and our PASSION that we have always known and loved.
The story (or most common thoery at least) behind the bluebird name isn't particularly exciting, but once you have chanted it on the terraces over thousands of games, it doesnt matter. What matters is that Bluebirds means Cardiff City and Cardiff City means Love.

Yes it is, the Avatar that is, and do you think there is anything on that crest that could be used to show the clubs apprecitation for the fantastic gift of the land Ninian Park was built on.
Many think that our Blue shirts relate to "The Bluebird" play which was on stage at the New Theatre in April 1911 but Cardiff City introduced the Blue and White playing strip two years earlier around the time the 3rd Marquis of Bute offered the parcel of wasteland on which Ninian Park was built.
Is this a coincidence or does it demonstrate our club has a tradition of showing gratitude and appreciation to major financial benefactors. If the answer to that question is yes then how do you think the club and fans from 1910 would look to thank VT for his financial support.
