I THINK THE NEW SHIRTS WILL SELL

Mon Jun 11, 2012 8:28 pm

I honestly believe if we are doing well the footballing public will warm to the change and the new shirts will fly out of the shops :ayatollah:

I don't think they should though. This isn't about sides or loyalties, I just think that whether you're for or against the investment, we as fans should stand together and just politely boycott the red shirts. The investment doesn't hinge on selling x amount of red home shirts anywhere, so it would not do any harm at all.

I respect people who want to boycott the red shirts, but I will buy one and hope my fellow fans will respect me when I wear one to our games.

I sort of agree, but I feel if they deliver on the main three promises, debt free, training ground and stadium expansion then people should start buying them if they want to, but not before.

I find this sad, people are trying to reach a compromise not only with the club, but with other fans...and unfortunately, people don't seem to be very welcoming to it.

Re: I THINK THE NEW SHIRTS WILL SELL

Mon Jun 11, 2012 8:45 pm

The shirts are disgusting and a embarrassment to Cardiff City Football Club, Its history and its future  i will burn that shirt if its ever given to me and stamp on the ashes. These opinions are of Nuke's viewpoint and not on City fans in general.

Re: I THINK THE NEW SHIRTS WILL SELL

Mon Jun 11, 2012 8:45 pm

I won't be buying the red one, but I don't hold anything against anyone who does, apart from Nukes

Re: I THINK THE NEW SHIRTS WILL SELL

tylerdurdenisabluebird Nonsense. Every has their own a opinion and if City fans want to go and buy the shirt they have the right not just because you said. Childish that some fans might not buy the shirt just because of the looks fans will give them. Its a shirt with our name on it. Different colour and crest? Yes but its still Cardiff City Fc. :ayatollah:

I'm someone who never buys the club shirts..never have, but my 15 year old boy cant wait for the red shirt to come out, he had a white one last year and a black one the year before.....for me the youngsters are the only fans with common sense at our club.

Yes, but that's the problem isn't it - I'm not going to let myself be bullied by anyone - but equally will not respond in a similar way to those who take a different view.

You seem to be saying you'd find a lack of respect towards those who take my view funny - is that what you're really saying? if so, I find that offensive and unreasonable - it won't put me off though, as I've always found the only approach with bullies is to stand up to them - it's only when they're in a group they get 'brave' anyway.

I think that come the first home game of the season there is likely to be more blue shirts in the stadium than red. With the shirt colour and badge there may be well a slow uptake.

I just find it funny anyone would want to wear something so ugly.
You do what you want, and I'll laugh when I want.
Not sure why you expect respect for wearing red at a Cardiff game, but I'll grudgingly respect you for standing up for your beliefs, so as I said, good luck with that, but don't be surprised when people point and laugh at your lack of style

So what if people wear Welsh shirts with a dragon badge - is that ok?

What about if I wear one of my 2003 or 2008 Red City shirts?

If its about 'style', are either of those two ok?

There's plenty of lack of style in the stadium now and I don't mean the city shirts

You got me there, I wouldn't like to see any of those as they're red  although they're at least the red of Wales and not a red with a black wash to represent a fusion of Welsh and Asian cultures
Wear what you want but expect fans to react how they want.
Not sure why you're asking me if it's okay anyway.
My opinion is wearing red to a city game after what has happened is vile, yours is the opposite.
And before you ask, I have no idea how I'd react to someone wearing that dirty shade of red, but it definitely won't be respect.

True
No wonder some fans are happy to wear that shit.

I'm sure some people will buy them as a collectors item and never wear them! But am confident there will be sparse in the stadium itself - just like the blue ones lots of the time then!

Re: I THINK THE NEW SHIRTS WILL SELL

I believe they will sell very well. Remember we are a small minority of city fans on here, and the majority of people who buy shirts I would say are kids. And we all know kids want the new thing thats out, and if its there football team there going to want the new shirt, and also they wont be any the wiser of all the bullshit with it.
tho them its a new shirt and some new players. In the last 2/3 years the amount of kids wearing city shirts in school sports has increased massively.

If my 12 year old son wants a red shirt next season then I'll buy him a red shirt as long as its a cardiff city shirt .... If he asks for a man utd or liverpool red shirt then I'd really have some concerns! .... Bluebirds!

I asked my 10 year old grandson which colour shirt he wanted this season. Red was his answer because thats the colour the team will be wearing. He also said I'll have a blue one as well so I can wear it to away games.

Both shirts wish I never asked him. ;)
