Malaysian Newspaer and VT's Plan

Wed Jun 06, 2012 9:49 pm

http://thestar.com.my/columnists/story. ... In%20China

this is a newspaper article from Malaysia, it simply says that Vincent Tan has invested in creating 'the Worlds largest Shopping Mall' in China... maybe this is where he is going to sell our shirts, he'll have loads of major links to the shopping industry in China and tap into the market there!

we sell to a maxium of 3 million people over here (not even that), while there are a billion people over there, i think this is his plan, just what i think! :ayatollah: you 'go changing the colour and icon of a club and putting millions into it just for a laugh!

there are 3 million people in Wales, just say almost half of them support cardiff! you then got people outside wales who support us, and many people would like to buy a shirt!

As has been said before we will probably sell to about 0.01% or 0.1% of the chinese population. We get approx. 10 pound per shirt sold. That means we will earn 10 million a year which is hardly anything to cover our loses

The only other asian countries that will take interest are Malaysia. Cannot see any of the other asian countries being interested. Population of malaysia is around 29 million. As its owned by a malaysian club say 1% of population will buy the kit thats only 290000 kits sold a year so only bringing in an extra few million a year. This deal isnt to do mainly with shirt sales its never going to be a feasable argument for it. It is all to do with gaining extra investors into the club from the chinese market

there's probably other opportunities in this but that's the one which is obvious! there might be deals being drawn up to broadcast Cardiff games in China and Malaysia as VT own shares in TV Companies, but we don't know! just got to wait and see what they do and what the Bank Accounts show up :ayatollah:

This is the thing its alot of what ifs? the tv broadcasts I understand will bring money in but they wont watch us untill we get in the Premier League not whilst we are still playing second division football. The only thing that appeal to the asian community is SUCCESS. Until we get to the top of the premier league and in Europe they wont even look at us.

agree with that but maybe pre season tours to the area would help? i mean playing little clubs around the UK isn't bringing in much money, i know us fans (well i do) love those little trips but imagine the publicity the club got by playing teams in Malaysia and China?

Shirt colour in the grand scheme of things makes no difference your right.
Red meant big investment (for his own reasons)
Blue meant plodding along.

that's why we got to stick together and just carry on supporting the club, arguing and bickering with your own fans and friends is ridiculous!... just trust the decision, whether you like it or not, and just cheer on the players! you support the club, not the colour, our history is still there as our names are on the cups we have won, not the colour! :ayatollah:
