Deluded FC

Fri Jun 01, 2012 6:57 pm

The Jacks keeper has just stated on" SSN that not only was Rodgers the best manager hes worked with (fair enough) but that he is also "probably the best manager in the Premier League".

This on top of their fans thinking they were an attractive proposition for Pep or AVB.

I know they are cut adrift slightly down there but f**k sake reign it back and join the real world again you plebs.

Rodgers is basically god.

Haven't you heard? It's all over the Liverpool forums. Apparently he has a prove track record and plays attractive, attacking(?!) football!

Hello wads it your old mucker. How did Sousa rate then in your hall of fame?

Re: Deluded FC

Fri Jun 01, 2012 8:24 pm

Brendan Rodgers record was shit before Swansea, and all he did at Swansea was finish what Martinez started, shit manager end of and as for the Liverpool fans on tv saying they loved watching swanseas football last year surely couldn't have watched them much, because good football be f****d, under 13s can pass the ball between their defence for 90 minutes it's not hard!

No it was said by graham and routeledge when they were on soccer am. Seems he's a confident so and so but then you want that in a goalkeeper. Wow I feeling generous

I believe that Martinez was the inspired appointment for you. Sousa made you hard to beat then Rodgers added Sinclair to get you creativity. But neither of the last two had a really tough job on their hands relative to Martinez so this may have flattered Jenkins somewhat?

So tired today so feeling calm. Nice move in terms of not allowing LFC to bid for any swans players for 12 months but in all honesty who would have been on their radar in your oppinion? Bear in mind they have to be better than what LFC currently have

Williams, Allen and Dyer. Possibly Vorm as well if he felt that Reina is not good enough with his feet. The players he's got there now are going to struggle with his passing out from the back game imo and bringing in the players mentioned would have bought him some time.

If he tries to play the same style with the current crop of Liverpool players as he did with us, he'll be lucky to last until the new year.

Joe Allen would have looked fantastic in the midfield of Liverpool................................................................................................................................ reserves.

Now Rodgers is off my hate list I'm looking forward to see how it unfolds but hope he does very well. Can't say I agree with any of your players named as despite a poor season LFC are full of internationals capable of more than they showed last season. We will see

Couldn't stop his own business going under and stiffing his creditors )including Borle apparently) though
Still its the norm in some places eh.

Half-wit who got lucky with Martinez and Rogers. Will be shown up eventually.

Every manager he has appointed has taken us to a higher position than the previous one. From the bottom of league 2, to the Premier League.

And you consider him a half-wit.

Now THAT is what I consider to be bitter.

Ermmmmmm No. Believe it or not, I'm a Cardiff fan posting on a Cardiff forum.

Iv seen enough of Williams to know that he can't cut it to Liverpools level. Who the hell would he even replace??

He his ahead of any of the Liverpool centre backs, especially given the style of play Rodgers would want to play.

Good luck getting the likes of Skrtel, Agger or Carragher playing that system.

He has been the rock our defence has been built on for the last few seasons.

Is not as if the jacks played any diffrent style of football before rogers was there bar get them up it was martinez who done the work before him let's be real here, he will not last a season at liverpool.

I disagree. I think he'll be there at least 18 months.

Even if things don't go well in the first season the owners can't afford to sack him because they sacked a Liverpool legend to give him the job. If they sack him as soon as it looks like trouble no one will ever want the job. They'll have to give him some time.

Re: Deluded FC

Sat Jun 02, 2012 12:35 pm

Sinclair and Gylfi are the only ones good enough for Liverpool.

The others? Liverpool have better versions of them. Reina > Vorm, Agger > Williams and Gerrard/Aquilani( who I imagine will fit in well with Rodgers' playstyle) > Allen

They've clearly said that he's there for the longer term as well though.

I expect his first season will be Champions League if possible but top eight if not.

If he finishes seventh of eighth he'll have equalled/bettered Dalglish's record so there wouldn't be a reason to sack him yet if they truly believe he's the future.

If he takes them any lower than that then yes I'd expect him to be sacked sooner. But he would be a true failure if he couldn't get eighth with that squad. Dalglish managed it without winning barely a game in the second half of the season.

Well he has really. Took the Jacks out of the hardest league to escape from (as we well know) and on a relatively small budget. Then in his first season didn't do a Derby or a Blackpool did a Stoke and this with playing attractive, attacking football.

I hope he screws up at Liverpool but he is beyond criticism really.

What's the attacking part about?

There is nothing in Swansea's play style that is attacking.

It's all possession based patiently waiting for the other side to pull themselves out of position so that they can move into the space left and pass into defence. I personally hate that style of football but I get where the attractive comments come from as it does look very goo when it comes off but to call it attacking football is pushing it a bit.

Also proven track record?

Took a mid table Watford side to mid table. Took a promotion candidate Reading side to the relegation zone. Took a play off challenging Swansea side to the Playoffs.

I've always felt that the best thing about Rodgers is his contacts in the world of football developed while he was a coach. If he hadn't signed Scott Sinclair they wouldn't have got promoted and only he, from his time spent as youth coach at Chelsea, would have known about Sinclair to sign him. Other than that I feel he's very average. Would be the sort of manager to establish a Premier league side in the prem or to take a championship side into the prem. Not much more than that.
