Money i guess would be the reason but of course he only signed a new contract before the cup final so they must want to keep him, i think it will be the malaysians first test if they come sniffing for him, so we will see how much they rate him i guess, weather or not we want him to stay.

If that has always been a dream of his then i can see why he would want the chance.
But him wanting the job because hes an ex captain there is just paper talk.
If thats his reasons for leaving and he does it in the correct way i'd respect him for that and wish him goodluck.

It would have to be down to the chance to be involved in Premier League football, his supposed relationship with the NCFC board and his history with the club. Surely that would appeal to MM.

What might also appeal to him though is having the funds to continue with the legacy he's building at Cardiff City, doing things his way with his ethos.

It's only a matter of time for Norwich to approach us in my opinion.

Like it or not they are a bigger club

We are all looking at it from a Cardiff point of view...

There's no evidence (yet) of him being backed for Premier League Football so why wouldn't the lure of Norwich (a Club he has an affiliation with) not tempt him?

If you had played for Cardiff for years (Hypathetically), became Manager of MK Dons then got offered the Cardiff job, you'd be more likely to take it because of Better League Status and Affiliation

Norwich are in the premiership, have debt of only £20m and income of over £50m. Is three enough?

That is a big if. The owners have done well to keep the club going however looking at the transfers in/ out over the last 12 months we have spent very little. We have snapped up a lot of frees and cheap signings. We have had money coming in from players going the main being Chopra. It is early in the summer but again to date we have signed a goalkeeper on a free.

We have been linked to major signings but none have materialised. We are now haggling over Keogh. There is nothing at this time to suggest what the manager has money to invest on the squad this summer. Don't forget that when we needed to strengthen in January to push on for promotion nothing was done.

It will be interesting to see what players are brought in, the quality of player and the fees paid. We do not need all marquee signings, e.g Mason was a great buy but one or two would strengthen the squad. To date we have not been linked to any wingers, something that we desperately need. :ayatollah:

Malky has stated on more than one occasion, that he is being backed by the owners as regards to transfers,so unless Malky is being economical with the truth, the lack of transfer activity can be down to two possibility's ......one. he is likely to be moving on shortly or...two. Malky is inept when it comes to doing business when a transfer window opens, you pay your money and make your choice i guess

This will be a good case to see what the malaysians plans really are with the club IF an approach from Norwich does happen. Lets see what happens we need a bit more drama at Cardiff its never boring being a City fan!

There miles above us in every way i would say. besides its not as if MM was backed last season so i wouldnt blame him for leaving to better himself only to stay here for another unbacked season with the squad.

well there 20 million in the red, but got a 50million income , better squad, bigger fan base but none of this matters really if MM wants to go there for his own reasons to better himself, thats football these days players are the same. We just might see the malaysians 1st test even though he signed a new contract 1week before the cup final if they come sniffing :ayatollah:

As I understand it, his family are still settled in the Norwich area - if he wants to go for family reasons it would be difficult to stand in his way. I'm not sure if this is true or just a rumour I heard somewhere.

However, you also have to remember that he has persuaded a lot of backroom staff to move down with him less than a year ago, and I believe him to be an honourable man who would take into account the impact it would have on their lives aswell before moving back to Norwich. I don't think he wants to go - he wants to prove what he can achieve by taking us to the PL before becoming Sir Alex' s successor at Man U.

The biggest draw I believe is that Norwich are a Premier League club with a very solid fanbase but Carrow road is a city centre ground which has had some major developments in and around it which will severely limit it's ability to be redevoloped.

Over both clibs history Cardiff City has spent more time in the top two divisions than Norwich, 6 seasons more, but over the last 40 seasons Norwich has only spent one season out of the top two divisions and has spent 22 years in the top division. Cardiff by comparison hasn't had a single season in the top flight during the last 40 seasons and in fact has spent 20 seasons outside the top two divisions.

This has helped Norwich build and maintain a very solid fanbase and at this moment in time we are achieving our best average attendances in decades and we have the ability to increase capacity to 35,000. If we get to the Premier League and if the capacity is increased that would place us in a stronger position than Norwich.

I believe MM is an honourable man and having signed a new contract last season he will stay and he will build our club into a position where we can not only reach the PL but compete in it. Without the development of Carrow Road I think Norwich will continue to yo-yo and MM will see this and stay and finish the job he has started here.

Don't think so. Not in terms of potential anyway.

Potentially, Malky is the manager of what could become a MASSIVE club with a MASSIVE fan base far far greater than little old Norwich. For this reason, and because I think he will want to take us to the Premiership, I believe he will stay. :ayatollah:

How do you work that out? They averaged 25,000 in league one. We couldnt even sell out a play off semi in the championship 2 years in a row?

I agree with Polo, not often you hear someone say that. We have the potential to be as big as Wolves, West Brom or Stoke but no bigger in my opinion. I'd say Norwich have same potential but are in a much better position to achieve it.
