My opinion on the leaking of the re-branding info!

The information was leaked fully-knowing that some one was going to spread the news.

The Malaysians and Club board sit back a few weeks to guage what the fans will say, do & protest against.

After overlooking the last few weeks, - media coverage, message boards, direct contact - They will now have a much better understanding on what they think the fans will settle for and be dead against.

They can now see that a compromise can be made to a certain degree.

They will use all this gathered feedback from the fans to SLOWLY introduce and implement each idea. Eventually a lot of what we have heard will probably take place - Even a home shirt colour change if we get to the premiership IMO.

Tan who is very much now a back seat person regarding his businesses, however still advises his son who now has control over his Berjaya Empire, has acquired a lot of cash as we know through recent share receivership, he also provides a hell of a lot of money to malaysian charities. Has recently sold his McDonalds franchise in Malaysia, and also is still chief principle from 3rd party off-set businesses of his Berjaya group.

All of the above - including any upcoming gambling licences that he wishes to acquire will need some hefty advertising in the Western world, to maintain a solid footing for everything he has worked all his life for to build.

No better way than getting into football advertising and TV rights, and nowhere better than the premier league.

I still expect big changes over the next year or two, IF they are committed to staying in control of OUR club.

It's quite possible this was the case, A tactic used by spin doctors and propergander ministers for years.
It's a no lose situation for them when you think about it and the amount of press coverage keeps Cardif
City in the spotlight and also the Malaysions.

Even so, its still has made us evaluate things and consider our future a lot more than ever before, including myself. I now know personally what my threshold is in terms of success v history/identity for my club. Is this is part of their strategy then I applaud it. What ever they decide will happen in the future more than than most will be in acceptance whereas a few weeks back people would have gladly torn up a season ticket. Day after play off final, just seems too good a timing. Gives them plenty of time to arrange an affective strategy which doesn't affect recruitment etc...

I think this info is 100% in the public domain tbh Luke, as Vince Alm admitted on this mb he'd been approached with the info and asked for his views!

He said that he'd trusted somebody(s) with the info and that the info got leaked by somebody he trusted!

If Merlin and other posters who have posted this similar theory are to be correct, you'd have to think that the club thought that Vince would automatically leak the info, which I personally don't believe, as I'd trust Vince 100% myself!

I agree the club knew full well this would be leaked.

They expected a reaction maybe not as strong as they got but they knew there would be one.

Anyone who thinks that the leak was a bolt from the blue is very much mistaken. I honestly think this is a chess game and at the moment the Malaysians are winning.

i have not and wouldn't slag off our owners because with out them we would be in the shit
however, i do think there are many more things for us to worry about behind the sceens that we should be more worried about a change of colour

My frustration is being treated like a fool by the club and being left in the dark. Its not that we need to know everything but we have to know whats going on when something like this comes up.

That is a fair question, but I think the answer has been posted a million times. There will be no high end investment in players (or anything else for that matter) until the situation with Langston has been resolved.

Obviously back in January there was no resolution of the Langston debt, hence no investment in players.

i think this langston deal needs to be the main priorty. the sooner its sorted the wheels can start turning again... while its there i agree that nothing will happen...

I think you could be right Merlin. The original leaked message seamed to precise & detailed not for it to be so, but also interesting was that some one on planet swab also claimed to know some details a few days earlier than that.
I agree that the key to all this is the Langston situation. I hope that this is concluded sooner rather than later.

The problem was this was just an idea that was leaked then things went viral ...... the timing of which seems a bit fishy too considering kit / badge designs were already sent to Puma ahead of the leak . So maybe this season was always going to be Blue but with some investment with maybe more to come following a successfull season ????

Sorry, don't have the answer to that one, not unless VT was trying to get Sam to accept a lesser lump sum and that's why he's reportedly offered the drip feed scenario, hoping that Sam may say, "oh give me £7 million then ffs!

Mind you, the drip feed may be something like £1 million pounds a month for ten months, which Personally, I'd accept!

Exactly - is it even possible to turn something into equity if it hasn't even been paid for?

Funny thing, but i've been thinking the same thing. How can you take over anything by equity? Surely you have too pay for it by hard cash first???
