The problem can also lay with posters who have thin skins, because I have seen hundreds of posters claim they were 'personally' abused for having an opinion, when the truth was their opinion was poor and all that really happened was that they got told so by serveral other posters.

The definition of Sniping is: To make malicious, underhand remarks or attacks on people for the sake of it and for a personal gain and to undermine that persons intelligence.

???
You know what a sniper does in terms of the armed forces right? sits there, hidden and unseen/unheard until he picks the exact moment to strike at his opponent to try and take him out from distance usually? - while in Internet terms almost exactly the same....
There are some posters on the forum that remain in the background, and continue to snipe (strike from distance - or from a computer and maybe using anonymous login names!) when it suits them. They usually tend to remain quiet and unheard on the usual football subjects, but when it comes to trying to make a certain person/poster look silly at a time when most vulnerable and when it suits them, with no regard to the actual topic in some cases!

Did anyone report this comment or post using the actual moderator log reporting Icon on the post itself?
If so - it would have been dealt with fairly by a moderator.

The Moderators on this board will be deleting any threads that contain sniping, threatening or sarcastic posts and warning the poster of future threads and posts and if continue will be banned from this forum. It is all getting a bit silly lately to say the least, I fell into the trap last week of having a go at a poster for being negative and then I realised that it is his opinion which he is entitled too and I quickly apologised to him.
We are all mainly Cardiff fans on here and support the same team, it is impossible for 100% of the supporters to want the same thing, ie Blue shirts or Red shirts, Bluebirds or Dragons, change or no change, everyone is entitled to their opinion and if your opinion differs from any other fan then you should not fall out over it.
Please respect each other and keep this forum number 1 for everything Cardiff City.

It was reported, but no email notification to indicate it was dealt with. Thread was left for a few days, bumped by me for a different reason, and then departed to the land of disappearing threads.

Thanks for that seriously![]()
The only problem I can see is that someone might genuinely post believing it is a bit of banter but the recipient may feel he has been sniped at. Should there be an apology system in place if the recipient complains about being sniped at?

Elliot,
what's right with sarcastic threads???
Sarcasm can cause an abundance of problems if the recipient can not take it or hasn't got a sense of humour and normally sarcasm is used to take the p*ss out of people which again causes arguments.
I personally hate sarcasm but sometimes take it if I know someone personally if that makes sense.

Had to ask cause sometimes it's like Syria or north Korea on here. I don't mind sarcasm unless they purposely be c*nts for the sake of it.
